Focus Systems is seeking an experienced Test Analyst (1888) to support a Procurement System Modernization initiative for a provincial government entity.

If you have strong experience planning, coordinating, executing, and reporting on testing activities for enterprise technology implementation projects, this is an exciting opportunity to contribute to a modernization initiative that will help validate solution quality and support successful delivery.

Key Details Location: Alberta, Canada Contract: July 20, 2026, to May 31, 2027, with potential extension on the same terms and conditions Industry: Public Sector / Procurement Modernization / Enterprise Systems Work Arrangement: Onsite five (5) days per week Standard Hours: 08:15-16:30 Alberta Time, Monday through Friday, excluding holidays observed by the Province

Role Overview The Test Analyst will support the Procurement System Modernization initiative by establishing testing approaches to effectively measure test results and confirm that delivered functionality meets business and technical requirements.

The successful candidate will ensure that test cases accurately reflect the scope of business requirements and the system development being delivered, while supporting project teams through all phases of testing, issue management, and implementation.

Key Responsibilities Review, evaluate, and provide testing input during business requirements and design specification sessions Establish testing approaches to effectively measure outcomes and validate solution quality Identify target test items to be evaluated during testing activities Ensure test cases align with business requirements and delivered functionality Support the development and execution of comprehensive test plans Collaborate with SMEs to define testing requirements and associated test data Gather, prepare, and manage test data Facilitate, coordinate, and manage test execution activities Evaluate testing cycle outcomes, verify test execution results, and define testing exit criteria Identify, communicate, log, and track testing issues, results, metrics, and defects Collaborate with project team members to analyze and recover from test execution errors Escalate risks and issues as required and drive activities toward successful completion Attend project meetings, provide testing status updates, and review testing inputs and outputs with stakeholders Assist project teams utilizing AI-enabled tools and automated testing solutions

Mandatory Qualifications Bachelor's Degree, Diploma, or equivalent combination of education and experience in Information Technology, Computer Science, Business, or a related discipline Experience establishing testing strategies, methodologies, and approaches for enterprise projects Experience reviewing and validating business requirements and design specifications Experience developing and executing test plans, test cases, and test scripts Experience managing test data and supporting end-to-end testing activities Experience facilitating User Acceptance Testing (UAT), System Integration Testing (SIT), and related testing activities Experience documenting, tracking, and reporting testing metrics, results, and defects Experience collaborating with business stakeholders, SMEs, and technical teams Experience supporting issue analysis, resolution, and testing process improvements Experience working within large-scale technology implementation projects

Preferred Experience & Assets Experience with procurement, ERP, or enterprise business system implementations Experience with automated testing tools and frameworks Experience utilizing AI-assisted testing tools Experience working within Government of Alberta or other public-sector environments Knowledge of Agile and hybrid project delivery methodologies
