The Office of Residential Tenancies and the Provincial Mediation Board with the Ministry of Justice has a challenging opportunity for a professional, collaborative and self-directed individual who has excellent interpersonal, communication and technical skills for the position of permanent Financial Analyst (Regina).
Reporting to the Director or Deputy Director Administration, this position will be responsible for the financial analysis, budget development, forecasting, capital asset and financial management.
The successful candidate will conduct financial analysis of operations and provide advice regarding accounting principles, Financial Administration Manual (FAM), internal policies and relevant legislation. You will prepare financial and operational reports for internal and special reporting requirements in accordance with the ministry and government policies.
As the successful candidate, you will bring knowledge of financial planning and management principles and practices; generally accepted accounting and auditing principles and standards; contract administration and management; and computer software applications including spreadsheet, databases and integrated financial systems. In order to meet the challenges in this dynamic environment you will also bring strong leadership, analytical, interpersonal, communication and organizational skills.
As the successful candidate, when needed, you will provide information to residential landlords and tenants about their rights and responsibilities based on the Residential Tenancies Act, 2026 through a call centre, via email and in-person.
The knowledge and skills required for this position would be attained through the completion of a university degree in Accounting, Master of Business Administration, Commerce, Finance, or Economics, and completion of a professional accounting designation (CPA) or working towards a CPA designation. Equivalent combinations of education and experience will be considered.
Must be a resident of Canada and legally entitled to work in Canada.
