We are looking for a capable resource to coordinate ranging from simple activities to more complex plans. This role will provide onsite/ on-call assistance to end-users within the organisation’s desktop computing environment in a timely and accurate fashion to ensure optimal service delivery.

Axiom Technologies is seeking an experiencedNetwork Engineer based in Vancouver, British Columbia,to work as anindependent contractor (freelancer). The role involves providing onsite technical support for hardware, software, and networking environments.
Role Type
- Independent Contractor (1099 / Contract)
- No benefits provided
- Initial contract: 1 year
- Extension based on performance and client requirements
- Dispatch-based / On-demand work
- No guaranteed hours
Scope of Work (Dispatch Activities)
- Network device installation, replacement, and troubleshooting
- Rack & stack of network equipment (switches, routers, firewalls, APs)
- Cable patching, labeling, and basic cable management
- Hands & feet support for remote network teams
- Site readiness checks and basic validation
- Follow client SOPs and safety guidelines
Mandatory Requirement – Tools
Candidatesmust carry their own tools, including but not limited to:
- Laptop with Ethernet port/adapter
- Console cable
- Network cable tester
- Crimping tools
- Screwdriver set
- Labeling tools
- Tools willnotbe provided.
Requirements
- Proven experience as aNetwork Engineer / Field Network Technician
- Strong understanding of LAN/WAN, switches, routers, and basic firewall concepts
- Ability to respond to dispatch requests during standard business hours
- Reliable transportation to reach client sites
- Professional communication and reporting skills
Compensation
- Paidhourly, based only onactual hours worked
Location
Travel required within the assigned region
Multiple client locationsacross Canada
