Job Description Job Summary: The Portfolio Manager – Agency Brands will be responsible for championing the development and implementation of comprehensive commercial strategies across our Agency Wine Portfolio. This position will report directly to the Director, Agency Imports.
Key Responsibilities The role will lead a portfolio of Agency Import wine brands, adapting global brand strategies for Canadian execution and driving go to market strategies to deliver profitable growth. The successful candidate will be able to work collaboratively with internal cross-functional teams such as Shopper Marketing, Regional Sales, Market Strategy, Operations, Finance, Legal, as well as our internal Marketing Communications, Consumer Insights, Innovation, and PR teams. This individual will also interact with suppliers, external partners and key customers, including provincial Liquor Boards and Grocery retailers. The successful applicant will be responsible for business performance, new product launches, program results, and fostering a collaborative working relationship with peers, internal cross-functional stakeholders, and external partners.
P&L Ownership
- Lead and manage all aspects of financial performance for assigned supplier portfolio.
- Develop and manage annual budgets and forecasts with support from regional GTM leads.
- Monitor sales performance, profitability metrics, and budget variance to ensure financial objectives and other KPI’s are met or exceeded. Work with GTM to mitigate risks and maximize opportunities.
Brand / Commercial Management
- Work with supplier to adapt global strategy to Canadian needs and execute annual commercial plans, including short and long range planning, that align with company and supplier objectives.
- Work with MSRGM leads to
- develop national and regional commercial plan & manage budgets, including marketing, shopper and price and promo
- drive and execute actionable insights from market analysis and competitive assessments.
- Collaborate closely with supplier, MSRGM, GTM, sales, and supply chain teams to ensure optimal execution of brand initiatives and promotions.
- Be the supplier brand voice at Arterra and manage creative tools and assets
Supplier Relationship Management
- Act as the primary liaison between suppliers and internal teams, ensuring alignment on strategy, objectives, and performance expectations.
- Facilitate regular business reviews with suppliers, working cross functionally to prepare financial reviews, insights, performance data, and actionable recommendations.
- Market Insight and Innovation:
- Introduce and evaluate new products that align with market opportunities and strategic growth initiatives. Work cross functionally to pitch and apply for listing calls.
Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree in Marketing, Business Administration or related field
- Minimum 4-5 years experience in either Tier-1 CPG or Alcoholic Beverage brand or trade marketing
- Experience with brand management, product management, new product development, GTM, and commercial strategy development and execution.
- Exceptional relationship management skills and proven ability to influence and collaborate across all organizational levels.
- Consumer first mindset, with experience in developing and leading omni channel marketing programs across paid, earned, and in-store channels
- Experience working in a collaboration-focused (or matrix) organization with shared objectives
- Experience working in medium to large, competitive and complex consumer marketplaces
- Resiliency and experience working in fast-paced and transformation-focused environments
Skills
- Strong drive for results and outcomes, with high attention to detail
- Strong communication skills, both written and verbal, with the ability to articulate complex ideas and concepts in a clear and concise manner
- Strong analytical skills and financial acumen including P&L management and oversight
- Highly skilled managing commercial budgets
- Experience creating impact with limited resources
- “Can-do” attitude and a demonstrated ability to creatively problem solve in challenging situations
- Excellent collaboration skills working with a broad range of cross-functional and external partners and providing support at all levels to resolve conflicts and issues
- Strong organizational skills including meeting management, follow up, and prioritization

Compensation : Budgeted Range – $101,355.00 - $131,165.00 The budgeted range takes into account several factors and qualifications that are considered in making compensation decisions including experience, education, training, licenses, certifications, and other business and organizational requirements. Base pay is only one component of the total rewards offering at Arterra.
