Job Summary:
Urban Life Solutions is hiring dedicated Hot Box Labourers with experience in asphalt work to join our construction and maintenance crews. Under the direction of the Hot Box Crew Leads, Labourers will assist in a variety of tasks, including preparing, pouring, and finishing asphalt, as well as laying and repairing asphalt surfaces for municipal and federal projects. This role also includes seasonal responsibilities such as landscape maintenance in summer and snow removal in winter. The ideal candidate is a team player with a strong work ethic, ready to tackle physically demanding outdoor work year-round.
Responsibilities:
Support asphalt paving, patching, and repair tasks for roads, pathways, and parking lots.
Operate hand tools, power tools, and light machinery (e.g., tampers, saws, rollers).
Snow removal as needed during winter season.
Load and unload materials, ensuring a clean and safe work environment.
Follow Crew Lead’s instructions and adhere to safety guidelines and project specifications.

Qualifications:
High school diploma or equivalent preferred.
1+ years of experience working with asphalt in construction or paving projects.
Familiarity with tools and techniques for placing and finishing asphalt.
Ability to perform physically demanding tasks, including lifting up to 50 lbs and prolonged standing.
Comfortable working outdoors in all weather conditions (heat, cold, rain, snow).
Team-oriented attitude with a willingness to learn and take direction.
Valid G driver’s license is an asset.
Experience with small equipment (e.g., bobcats, compactors) is a plus.
Book 7 certification is an asset.
