Toronto, Ontario, Canada (Hybrid)
Internship Duration: January - December 2026 (12months)
We are currently looking for a Software Analyst Intern - Engineering Environment to join us for a 12 month internship at our Toronto office.
As a member of a collaborative development team, the individual in this role will work within the Engineering Environment team with key directions on providing development, analysis, automation and testing against the infrastructure available in our organization, in order to support Hitachi Rail Ground Transportation Systems.

Key Accountabilities:
- Develop supporting scripts that will enhance current engineering infrastructure and tools
- Prepare reporting and dashboards (Power BI) that will be used for local and global business line reporting
- Responsible for customer facing support (Service Desk), based on customers technical issues and requests
- Participate in front end development for our current transformation activities
- Collaborates in wiki community management
Key Requirements:
- The successful candidate should be working towards a Bachelor’s degree from an accredited university or college in Computer/Systems Engineering degree or equivalent
- Completion of the second or third year of your undergraduate degree, or currently pursuing a master’s degree
- Fluent in English both in written and oral communication skills
- Able to work full-time hours (40 hours per week) and is open to being in the office at least two days per week
- Knowledge in Web Development. Scripting (Python, Groovy, PowerShell, etc.), automation
- Positive 'can do' attitude - Customer delivery focused
Preferred Qualifications:
- Co-op student available for a 12-month term, with at least one additional quarter or semester of coursework remaining after the completion of the internship.
- Previous co-op or internship experience is a plus, or relevant school projects may be considered.
- Experience with Virtualization (VMware, AWS, Google Cloud, etc.)
- Experience with JIRA
- Experience with GIT/ BitBucket
- Experience with Artifactory
- Experience with Jenkins / Continuous Integration
- Knowledge or experience of PowerBI and Business Intelligence Reporting
