Summary of Duties:
Reports to the Manager III, Legislative Services. Responsible for the secretarial functions of various Committees of the Municipal Council, as assigned. Maintains currency of various Corporate documents and coordinates publication of Departmental documents.
Work Performed:
- Performs secretarial functions, including the preparation of agendas, reports, minutes and related correspondence, of a Standing Committee and of Advisory, Ad Hoc and Special Committees of the Municipal Council, as assigned.
- Attends meetings of the Municipal Council, as required, and for performing assigned secretariat duties associated therewith.
- Maintains a current consolidation and the index for the City's private legislation and the Policy Manual of the City Council; and maintains a current register for properties designated under the Ontario Heritage Act.
- Responsible for coordinating the preparation and undertaking the publication of various Corporate and Departmental documents, information pamphlets and brochures.
- Assists with the carrying out of Municipal Elections.
- Directs an assigned Committee Support Clerk in the performance of duties.
- Performs related duties as assigned.
Qualifications:
Two year Community College Office Administration Diploma.
Experience:
One to two years' related experience.
Specialized Training & Licenses:
Skills and abilities in the following areas are necessary:
- AMCT designation.
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
- Demonstrated proficiency in wordprocessing, spreadsheets and various software.
Compensation & Other Information:
$51,652 - $73,180 (Level 10)
This posting is for one (1) permanent full-time position.
This position is currently under review.
Current hours of Work: Monday - Friday from 8:30 a.m. to 4:30 p.m.
Work Arrangement: Onsite. Subject to change in accordance with business requirements.
These hours of work are subject to change in accordance with the Collective Agreement and may include evening hours and Saturdays.
NOTE: Applicants may be required to complete a job related test.
