Work Remotely
This is a full-time position based on a 40-hour work week. Stream’s head office is in Calgary, Alberta with remote workers located across the country. We are happy to provide a hybrid work environment, enabling you to work from home or in a virtual location of your choosing. We still encourage a strong collaborative culture and provide workspaces in a variety of locations for team collaboration, design, planning sessions and social activities as available.

Position Summary:
Reporting to the Director of Research & Development, this position plays a significant role within Stream’s development team by driving the growth of our proprietary simulation engine.
As Manager, Platform & Architecture, you will drive the continuous improvement of the underlying systems that we use to deliver value to our customers. In this role, you will be responsible for defining, documenting, and implementing technical architecture standards, as well as ensuring the optimal configuration of deployed 3rd party components within our platform. You will work closely with both the Development and IT Operations teams, to ensure that we enable the delivery of scalable, reliable solutions to our customers.
What you will be doing on a typical day:
- Working with the technical leadership team to assess requirements and recommend priorities for work management
- Managing a team of technical resources to implement and manage services in cloud and on-premises environments
- Driving the adoption of consistent, systemically supported architectural elements such as DevOps automations and software libraries
- Ensuring deployed tools and software are appropriately vetted and managed through the process of development and deployment across all environments
- Providing technical leadership in identifying opportunities for continuous improvement to our technology stack
- Leading by example in implementing and adhering to defined technical standards
- Working with teams in analysing and resolving product incidents and issues

- Seasoned technology leader who understands the criticality of well-defined architecture
- Strong programming and deployment background
- Developing practical architecture by implementing effective process supports and tools as opposed to conceptual documentation
- Demonstrable problem-solving ability, highly analytical and enjoy working with high level thinking teams
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills, with the ability to present complex ideas in a clear and concise manner

- 10 year’s experience in development, design, or IT Operations
- 5 year’s experience in DevOps, Architecture, or equivalent
- Experience in technical support leadership
