Are you passionate about improving population health and building a stronger, integrated health system? Join our team in the Capacity, Planning and Standards Unit, where you'll play a key role in supporting planning, development, evaluation and implementation of population and public health systems strategies, policies and standards, and performance frameworks
In this role, you'll collaborate with internal and external stakeholders including Francophone stakeholders, and provide expert advice to senior leadership on public health French Language Services.

Your ability to work fluently in both official languages will ensure inclusive engagement and effective communication across diverse communities.

About the job

In this role, you will:

  • participate in and support projects/initiatives to conceptualize, plan, develop, and implement strategies, policies, programs, standards, and performance management and evaluation frameworks related to the public health system in Ontario and improving population health outcomes
  • conduct research, monitoring, analysis and assessment of socio-economic and demographic data, funding models, indicators, statistics and other data required to support the Division and Ministry project initiatives
  • build and foster critical stakeholder relationships across the division, ministry and ministries, as well as federal, provincial and territorial, and municipal jurisdictions
  • draft a range of analyses, policy/research papers, briefing documents, cabinet submission and other legislative documents, and communications

What you bring to the team

Mandatory requirements

  • you must possess oral and written French language skills at the advanced level. Your proficiency level will be confirmed before hire

Research and analysis

You have:

  • skills in researching and analyzing quantitative and qualitative data and information
  • experience using research and analytical techniques (e.g. literature reviews, survey techniques, performance measures and financial modeling)
  • analytical and written communication skills to prepare complex analyses, detailed policy frameworks, draft materials for Cabinet submissions, recommendations, and briefing papers
  • ability to understand and apply techniques of operational and strategic planning and performance management

Technical knowledge

You have:

  • knowledge of program and policy design
  • knowledge of program analysis/evaluation techniques to assess the effectiveness of new/changed policies and programs and to provide recommendations
  • ability to anticipate challenges and identify innovative solutions to support new or revised policies and programs

Communication and interpersonal

You can:

  • interact effectively, and relay and exchange information
  • work with internal and external stakeholders
  • synthesize, prepare and present research results and analyses, policy/program design and financial submissions and briefing documents
  • work effectively in a team environment

Project management

You have:

  • knowledge and ability to use project management methodology to develop work plans/schedules and monitor project progress
