Starting Wage: Day Shift $24-28 /hour Shift: Monday - Thursday (Flex Friday) 6:00am - 4:30pm Location: Surrey, BC

IEM Canada is seeking experienced and hard-working individuals to join our team as Switchgear Wiring Technician. The ideal candidate for the position will be responsible for the wiring of control panels.
Responsibilities
Use wire termination and component layout tools including but not limited to strippers, wire cutters, wire crimpers, screwdrivers, tee square, machinist square, tape measure, wrenches and pliers. Follow company established practices for wire termination, routing, bundles, wire harnesses and wire numbers. Wire complete panels per drawings including back panels and wiring between devices/ components. Mount electrical components including circuit breakers, switches, transformers, relays, contactors, terminals, input/output devices and/or all other related switchgear electrical devices.
Meeting production schedules while maintaining IEM’s strictest quality standards
Assembly of LV and MV switchgear As required
Qualified candidates must possess
At least 2 years experience in assembling and wiring electrical panels, back pans, doors, etc.
Ability to interpret drawings, work independently
Mechanical aptitude Ability to work quickly with your hands while maintaining accuracy and high quality Strong work ethic and motivation to learn Working flexible shifts as required (which may include weekends, evenings and statutory holidays) Must be a team player Basic training will be provided
Physical/Mental/Environment
Physical Demands
Activities: Sitting – 5% Walking/Standing – 95% Lifting: Frequently lift up to 50 lbs. Bending: Must be able to bend, squat, crawl and climb. Vision: Long periods of close work on small fonts and fine print on drawings and ability to see small or detailed items. Hand and arm strength: requires a strong, firm grip to hold onto wires for long periods of time Coordination: frequent ladder use Mental Demands: Interpret, analyze, research and handle multiple tasks simultaneously.
Environment
Shop/warehouse. Not climate controlled. Exposure to excessive heat and cold, wet/humid conditions, noise/vibration, hazards, dust and fumes.
