NOTICE OF NON-UNION VACANCY
POSITION: Supervisor of Payroll Administration
LOCATION: Catholic Education Centre
SALARY: $ 87,998 - $92,629 annual
Reporting to the Manager of Payroll and Benefits you will be assisting with the administration of a variety of essential Payroll functions.
Duties include:
- Co-ordinate the processing of the full payroll cycle for all weekly and bi-weekly payrolls;
- Review all payroll data entries for accuracy and compliance with the Employment Standards Act, Collective Agreements, statutory deduction requirements and established policies and procedures;
- Review, analyze and prepare remittances for Revenue Canada, garnishments, union dues, Employer Health Tax and personal deductions;
- Review and post payroll journal entries and assist in reconciliation of payroll general ledger accounts;
- Provide support to Payroll staff in regards to payroll processing, payroll data, payroll software and pension plan administration;
- Co-ordinate the import and export of data to third party administrators such as benefit providers and pension plans;
- Reconcile and remit employee payroll deducted OMERS pension contributions;
- Reconcile and remit employee payroll deducted Teacher's Pension Plan contributions;
- Review and co-ordinate distribution of all Human Resource/Payroll employee change forms through the eBase application;
- Assist in annual processing of T4s;
- Perform other duties and special projects as assigned.
Qualifications
- Post-Secondary Diploma/Certificate in Payroll, Business or Accounting or equivalent job-related experience;
- Minimum three (3) years of payroll and pension administration experience, specifically in a large organization, including union and non-union employees;
- Specialized experience in K212 HRP preferred;
- Specialized experience in Crystal Reports and/or Power BI and knowledge of database structure and database storage preferred;
- Advanced proficiency in MS Office Excel and Word;
- Demonstrated initiative, self-motivation and independent thought;
- Ability to work effectively both independently as well as part of a team;
- Strong professional and organizational skills with attention to detail and accuracy;
- Strengths in analyzing and problem solving;
- Ability to handle matters in a diplomatic, sensitive and confidential manner;
- Ability and willingness to take an active role in the development and organizational components of special projects;
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills to interact effectively with employees, management, unions/associations, third party pension plans;
- Willing to work flexible hours and able to work within deadlines.
