What You’ll Do

Reporting to the Business Services Manager, the Program Coordinator is responsible for the effective planning, development, implementation and evaluation of relevant and engaging programs for the Bruce County Museum & Cultural Centre (BCM&CC), with the objective of increasing visitation and expanding the membership base. Programming will encompass cultural activities such as: music, drama and art, traditional workshops, seminars, lectures and presentations that relate directly to the Museum and exhibits. The Coordinator works with the exhibit team to develop dynamic and engaging programming including interpretative activities linked to the Museum’s permanent and temporary exhibits. The Coordinator is responsible for program administration, sponsor recommendations and packaging, budget administration and reporting.

What We’re Looking For

Education & Experience

  • Two-year post-secondary diploma in an education-related discipline, event programming or museum interpretation
  • Two years prior experience planning and delivering programming in a cultural or educational setting

Skills & Abilities

  • Strong public relations and presentation skills
  • Effective verbal communications skills
  • Experience in program research and analysis
  • Intermediate Microsoft Office Skills: Word, Excel, Power Point
  • Knowledge of and experience with audio visual and presentation equipment
  • Ability to take initiative and use innovative techniques and ingenuity in preparing grant/loan applications
  • Ability to create materials in a range of styles or per a prescribed style
  • Ability to prioritize and manage conflicting demands
  • Advanced writing skills, including proper spelling, grammar, and punctuation
  • High flexibility with strong interpersonal skills that allow one to work effectively in a diverse environment
  • Ability to absorb new ideas and concepts quickly and to ensure they are clearly communicated to an audience
  • Clean Vulnerable Sector Criminal Reference Check
  • Experience with Social Media platforms (asset)
