Technician I (Apprentice Heavy Duty Mechanic) - Prince George, BC

Job Type: Full-Time, Permanent
Schedule: Monday to Friday, Day Shift

About the Role

Join First Student as an Apprentice Technician and start your career in vehicle maintenance with a team that values safety, development, and teamwork. You'll work alongside experienced technicians to maintain and repair school buses, gaining hands-on experience and support toward your certification.

Responsibilities

  • Assist in inspecting, diagnosing, and repairing mechanical, electrical, and hydraulic systems
  • Perform routine maintenance such as oil changes, brake inspections, and tire services
  • Document work orders and maintenance records
  • Support mobile service calls when needed
  • Maintain a clean and safe work environment

Qualifications

  • Enrollment in or completion of a Heavy Duty Equipment Technician apprenticeship program
  • Basic mechanical knowledge and interest in vehicle maintenance
  • Ability to lift heavy parts and work in a physically demanding environment
  • Strong commitment to safety and teamwork
  • Valid Canadian driver's license with a clean driving record
