Sr Category Business Manager Mississauga, ON, Full-time Pay range - $110,965 - $147,953 Responsibilities Your responsibilities A Senior Category Business Manager will responsible for managing complete ownership of a single or group of product lines. This role will work as a multi-functional disciplinarian ensuring success throughout the whole product lifecycle. Requires advanced knowledge of planning & developing the go-to-market strategy including revenue targets, volume, market share, distribution and marketing plan, and P&L.

  • Oversee the development of the product assortment, including the study and evaluation of their potential and practicality
  • Manage product assortment planning and development among marketing, sales, and finance, in order to ensure the successful introduction of products into the marketplace
  • Manage product assortment changes in existing product lines
  • Develop and execute all product management activities inherent in building market share and profitability
  • Own the product launch process and collaboration with marketing product launch teams for on-time introduction, successful execution and aggressive new product launches
  • Manage phase-in/phase-out process ensuring proper supply chain coordination for on-time launches
  • Asses and coordinate point-of-sale materials, adapt and launch in collaboration with retail trade marketing teams
  • Ensure optimum price level for competitiveness and profitability of product range
  • Implement roadmap by initiating product projects, take ownership for the Product Project/ Product Business Case specific to country needs
  • Define product positioning for each new product within the brand line up
  • Analyze volume opportunities and profitability by product range and identify new fields of innovation within their own categories
  • Interpret consumer research and market trends for future product development
  • Analyze market demand by product on a monthly basis and oversee annual sales forecast
  • Analyze product pricing and programs as compared to appropriate competitors
  • Implement effective strategy for literature and collateral materials for product features and positioning
  • Develop product display requirement to ensure highest level of success for each category of products
  • Control Product/Training/Promotional marketing expenses within budget constraints
  • Help develop new product concepts with marketplace input
  • Lead Canada initiative for Product Information Management and maintain product information system as it relates to internal and external systems
  • Develop and execute consumer and trade promotions together with Head of Marketing, brand manager, trade marketing manager, and other category managers
  • Coordinate production and launch between agencies and internal resources, perform analysis to determine effectiveness pre-and-post campaign
  • Monitor and report on competitive promotions and recommend countermeasures

Your profile

  • Bachelor’s degree (Business Administration, Marketing) – Required
  • Master's Degree (Business Administration, Marketing) – Preferred
  • 7-10 Years of Experience (Category or product management, user research or product development, project management) – Required
  • French and/or German language would be considered a plus
  • Excellent verbal, written communication and presentation skills
  • Strong project management expertise and leading cross functional teams
  • Strong leadership and negotiation skills
  • Skilled in analysis, problem solving and decision making
  • Skilled in coaching and leadership to develop direct reports
  • Major or Small Domestic Appliance industry experience would be considered a plus
  • Track record of achievement in product management and/or marketing
  • Proficient in Microsoft Office products (Word, Excel, PowerPoint)
  • Proficient in Business Analytics Software such as PowerBI, Tableau, SAP Analytics CloudSAP ERP experience
  • Travel Percentage – 30%

  • Eligible to join the Retirement Savings Plan on your date of employment with BSH, you can tax shelter up to 18% of earned income subject to additional CRA specific regulations. In addition, BSH makes an employer matching contribution of 50% of your employee RRSP contributions, subject to a max match contribution of 3% of eligible earnings.
