Richmond Hospital Department of Psychiatry is currently seeking a psychiatrist to join in a Permanent position to fill two part time positions in hospital. Position to start immediately.
- Richmond Hospital Psychiatry Consult Liaison Program (0.2 FTE) – provides consultation and short‑term management of general mental health conditions for each of the following services:
- Consult Liaison Program – psychiatric assessment and treatment to patients admitted in medical and surgical wards; liaison with primary care team; supervision for medical students and psychiatry residents may also be required.
- Rapid Access Consult Clinic (0.3 FTE) – rapid consult services for referrals from the Emergency Department and Family Physicians for urgent consult and counselling.
- In‑Patient Service (0.5 FTE) – psychiatric assessment and treatment to admitted in‑patients, consultants in the Emergency Department, and collaboration with primary care team.
Richmond Hospital is a fully accredited, 228‑bed acute‑care facility serving a local population of 200,000 with an additional catchment area of almost 120,000. The hospital is undergoing a campus‑wide expansion and renewal with a target completion of 2029.
Qualifications
Education, Licensing, & Experience:
- Current College of Physicians of BC (CPSBC) – Full
- Canadian College of Family Practitioners (CCFP) – Eligible
- Canadian Medical Protective Association (CMPA) – Mandatory
- Fellow of the Royal College of Physicians of Canada (FRCPC) – Desired
