The Automation and Controls Technician is responsible for maintaining, troubleshooting, and supporting advanced warehouse automation systems such as PLCs, robotics, AGVs/AMRs, and SCADA. This role ensures optimal system functionality, minimizes downtime, and supports operational efficiency. It is a rotational shift position with some weekend work as required.

Key Responsibilities
- Serve as Subject Matter Expert for warehouse automation systems and controls
- Install, maintain, and repair electrical, electronic, and control systems
- Troubleshoot equipment issues using PLC diagnostics and analysis
- Support PLC/HMI programming, including modifications and fault resolution
- Perform preventive maintenance, calibration, and repairs on automation systems
- Interpret electrical schematics, technical drawings, and system designs
- Support continuous improvement and equipment efficiency initiatives
- Ensure compliance with safety standards, policies, and procedures
Qualifications:
- 3+ years of experience with PLCs and HMIs in a manufacturing environment
- Valid trade certification (Industrial Electrician or equivalent) or relevant diploma/degree
- Strong troubleshooting experience with automation, controls, and robotics systems
- Ability to read and interpret electrical and mechanical schematics
- Willingness to work a 2-week rotational shift schedule
- Availability to work overtime during weekdays, weekends, and scheduled shutdowns as required
- Physically capable of performing job-related tasks (lifting, standing, bending)
- Strong communication skills and ability to work independently or within a team
