Position Purpose
Participate in the preparation and application of HOYA coatings on lenses to ensure that Production targets are met in accordance with safety and quality standards.
Major Duties and Responsibilities

Work order invoice analysis for sorting purposes in preparation for production processing
-
Sorting surfaced work in priority level sequence according to Hard Coat Requirements & Procedures
-
Bar Code scanning and job transfer distribution from the sorting area into the department for processing
-
Lens Inspection for Surface Flaw or Defect
-
Hand Wiping SOP HOYA Technique
-
Lens Inspection after DIP Process Application for Quality Assurance
-
Conduct quality assessments. Standardized testing – (Abrasion, Adhesion, Titration, Film Thickness, Solids content)
-
Conduct basic machine operations and troubleshooting.
-
Hard coat equipment shutdown, and startup by following required SOP’s.
-
Record daily production activity, quality logs, maintenance logs and cleaning tasks.
-
Department and Stationary Cleaning to maintain clean room status.
-
Flexible in Availability – Overtime When Needed
-
Assisting Other Departments during slower intervals as needed upon request
Required Education, Skills and Qualifications
-
High School OSSD diploma or equivalent required
-
Minimum one (1) year of experience working with Chemicals
-
Minimum one (1) year of manufacturing experience required
-
Postsecondary/graduate diploma/degree an asset
-
Optical/Chemistry training/background an asset
-
Attention to detail with the ability to multi-task and commit to process
-
Able to regularly meet production targets
-
Communicate production issues and machines troubles with Leads and Supervisors.
Physical Skill and Effort
-
On feet most of the day
-
Low, moderate and high noise levels (not to exceed standards)
-
Near vision and sharp focus to adjust vision when doing close work.
-
Extended periods of time and repetitive lifting, reaching and grasping above shoulder-level
-
Occasional bending to access equipment components
-
Manual dexterity required to manipulate objects. Handling by seizing, holding, grasping, turning or otherwise working with the hands and fingers.
-
Occasional lifting/ carrying 10 lbs or less, pushing/ pulling 30 lbs or less.
