About the role

Under the general direction of the Director, Hotel Operations Manager, Events, the Catering Sales Manager / Conference Services Manager is responsible for driving sales for conferences, meetings, catering, theatre, and casino events while building strong relationships with new and returning clients. This role identifies new business opportunities, delivers exceptional event experiences, and fosters a safe and welcoming environment. A passion for providing Great Experiences and Memories to our internal and external guests in the continual pursuit of service excellence is essential.

Key Accountabilities

  • Solicit, negotiate, and secure new and repeat business through prospecting, referrals, trade shows, site inspections, and other sales initiatives while maximizing resort revenue and maintaining accurate event, guest, order, payment, and expense records.
  • Plan, detail, and upselling meetings and events, including space requirements, schedules, equipment, menus, billing instructions, and group room blocks.
  • Conduct site tours and inspections to showcase the resort's meeting and event facilities.
  • Ensure seamless event execution by collaborating closely with Banquets, Event Operations, and other departments, and by following established procedures.
  • Serve as the primary liaison between the client, sales team, and operational teams throughout the pre-event, event, and post-event phases, including handoff to Event Operations.
  • Welcome guests during the event phase and promptly resolve guest concerns to ensure exceptional service.
  • Develop and maintain strong working relationships with guests, ownership, employees, and other key stakeholders.
  • Ensure compliance with licensing laws, health and safety standards, and all applicable policies and regulations.
  • Monitor event accuracy and operational excellence to deliver exceptional guest experiences and successful outcomes.
  • Perform other related duties as assigned.

Minimum Qualifications

  • High School Diploma
  • Post Secondary hospitality or hotel education or suitable combination of education and experience
  • SIR, Smart Serve or IGB Certificate
  • Minimum 2 years’ experience in Sales & Catering in a hospitality environment.
  • Ability to exceed internal and external customer expectations through timely, effective and service oriented communication
  • Computer literacy in MS Office
  • A passion for providing Great Experiences and Memories to our internal and external guests in the continual quest of achieving serving excellence

Preferred Qualifications

  • Experience with Opera/Fidelio, Micros an asset

Work Environment Considerations: This position is primarily scheduled Monday to Friday, 9:00 a.m. to 5:00 p.m., with flexibility to support and oversee events during non-traditional hours, including evenings, weekends, and holidays, to ensure exceptional guest experiences.

Compensation for this position is aligned with experience, with a salary range of $55,000–$65,000, and eligibility for a performance-based bonus structure that rewards strong operational results, leadership impact, and contributions to culinary excellence.
