Onsite work location

Located at 5286 Polkey Road, Duncan, BC, V9L 6W3, this full-time permanent position offers a consistent Monday to Friday schedule, ensuring 40 hours per week with no weekend shifts.

Why this role matters

The Account Development Specialist is responsible for generating new business opportunities and driving sales growth. This role requires a proactive approach, excellent communication skills, a deep understanding of the electrical wholesale industry, and a strong knowledge of EBH services and products. The Account Development Specialist will collaborate to execute sales initiatives, including identifying and qualifying potential customers, building and maintaining strong client relationships, preparing and delivering sales presentations, and managing sales projects from initiation to completion.

What to expect in the role

Lead Generation. Proactively reach out to potential customers through various channels, such as cold calling and targeted email campaigns, to generate interest and new leads.

Customer Service and Relations. Build and maintain positive relationships with new and existing customers. Interpret customer needs, prioritize and respond to inquiries, and provide tailored solutions promptly.

Quotations. Generate quotations using various methods and provide accurate quotes verbally or in writing.

Order Entry and Management. Enter regular, special, or pick-and-hold orders received in person or electronically. Modify or update orders as needed. Ensure customer contact information is accurate and up to date.

Analytical Mindset. Serve as the gatekeeper for analyzing, identifying, and reviewing customer sales trends as directed by the branch leadership team.

Values Teamwork. Collaborate with and support branch leadership and sales teams. Teamwork is essential in this role, and you will continue to provide inside sales support as branch operations require.

The ideal candidate profile

  • Strong electrical and lighting product knowledge
  • 5+ years of experience in a sales and customer service role
  • 5+ years of electrical or distribution industry experience
  • Proven ability to generate leads and close sales through cold calling
  • Experience supporting a sales team or branch leadership
  • Experience conducting business research and preparing business proposals
  • Advanced computer skills with high proficiency in MS Office, specifically Excel, PowerPoint, and Outlook
  • Excellent organizational and time-management skills
  • Experience with a CRM such as Salesforce or a similar platform
  • Strong business communication, writing, and presentation-development skills; familiar with MS365 (SharePoint, OneDrive, and Teams)
