About the role

Manager, Marketing (Confidential Search)

Why You Will Love This Organization

This is an opportunity to join a national, multi-location retail organization at a pivotal stage of growth and evolution. The business is scaling quickly, investing in stronger marketing execution, and building more consistent, impactful programs across its retail network.

You’ll work with a highly collaborative senior leader who values transparency, accountability, and trust and who is looking for a true right-hand partner to own and elevate marketing execution across the enterprise.

If you enjoy rolling up your sleeves , building programs that stores can execute, and seeing your work come to life across hundreds of locations, this role offers both visibility and impact .

The Impact You Will Have

As Manager, Marketing, you will own end-to-end marketing execution across a large, national retail footprint. You will be responsible for bringing programs to life in-store and digitally, ensuring initiatives are easy to execute, operationally sound, and commercially effective.

This role is designed for an operator, not a pure strategist , someone who thrives in execution, collaboration, and continuous improvement. Your work will directly influence store-level performance, partner engagement, and the consistency of the customer experience across the network.

What You Will Do

  • Own the execution and rollout of national in-store and digital marketing programs , including signage, promotional materials, merchandising kits, and store toolkits
  • Lead the activation and amplification of partner-led, vendor-funded, and loyalty-driven campaigns (e.g., BOGO, Spend & Get, seasonal programs)
  • Ensure marketing programs are clear, repeatable, and operationally executable at store level
  • Collaborate cross-functionally with Operations, Merchandising, Retail Stores, HR, and external partners to align priorities and close execution gaps
  • Lead and develop a small, high-impact marketing team , providing clarity, direction, and accountability
  • Partner with internal analytics and reporting teams to review campaign performance (sales lift, traffic, engagement) and translate results into actionable insights
  • Prepare concise summaries and recommendations for senior leadership to inform future activations
  • Continuously improve programs by incorporating learnings, store feedback, and market trends

What You Will Bring

  • 5+ years of progressive retail marketing experience , ideally within pharmacy, grocery, mass retail, or multi-location environments
  • Hands-on ownership of in-store marketing execution across national or multi-location networks
  • Experience executing partner-led, loyalty-driven, or vendor-funded programs from rollout through results
  • Working knowledge of how digital and social channels (particularly Facebook and LinkedIn) amplify retail campaigns
  • Strong commercial and analytical mindset , with experience reviewing campaign performance and identifying opportunities for improvement
  • Minimum 1 year of people leadership experience, or strong matrix leadership with clear accountability
  • Proven ability to collaborate cross-functionally and influence stakeholders without direct authority
  • Clear, structured communication style with strong follow-through and ownership

Nice-to-have experience includes

  • Multi-banner retail exposure
  • Loyalty or customer data-driven initiatives
  • Google AdWords / Google Business or campaign tracking tools
  • Experience supporting large retail footprints (300+ locations)

Work Environment

  • Remote-first role , with periodic in-person collaboration as required (typically quarterly)
  • National scope with cross-country stakeholders
  • Fast-paced, execution-focused environment with high visibility and autonomy

USE OF ARTIFICIAL INTELLIGENCE – BY RECRUITERS & HIRING MANAGERS

At The Talent Company, people are at the centre of our recruitment process. While we may use artificial intelligence (AI) tools for limited administrative purposes (such as writing creative outreach messages, summarizing interview notes or transcribing reference checks) AI is never the decision maker. Resumes and candidate information are personally reviewed by our recruiters, and all hiring decisions are made by people who bring judgment, care, and expertise to each match. If a client’s recruitment process involves a greater degree of AI use during their own interviews or assessments, we will communicate that to short-listed candidates, so they are aware in advance. Our commitment is to use technology responsibly, while ensuring fairness, transparency, and respect at every stage of the process.

USE OF ARTIFICIAL INTELLIGENCE – BY CANDIDATES

We recognize that candidates may choose to use artificial intelligence (AI) tools to support their job search, for example to refine writing style or gather research. While this can be appropriate, the information you provide in your resume, screening questions, and interviews must always be truthful and accurately reflect your own experience, knowledge, and competencies. AI should never be used to create or exaggerate credentials. Our goal is to understand the real you – your skills, your story, and your potential – so that we can make the best possible match between you and the organizations we serve.

ACCOMMODATION & INCLUSIVITY

At The Talent Company, we recognize the value of different perspectives and experiences in prompting innovation, sparking creativity, and solving problems. As an equal employment opportunity organization, we do not discriminate against any employee or applicant for employment based on race, Aboriginal peoples, members of visible minorities, sex, age, national origin, religion, sexual orientation, gender identity, persons with disabilities and all other categories protected by law.

We are committed to Equal Opportunities and welcome applications from all sections of the community. Please let us know by emailing 'recruitment@thetalent.co' if an adjustment or adaptation is required at any stage to support you during the recruitment journey.
