About the role

WHY DO WE NEED YOU?

This position is a highly visible supply chain role that is accountable for production’s supply and demand planning processes and their outcomes. The incumbent will coordinate the activities of the Production Control and Costing functions, manage the expediting and documentation processes, and efficiently plan and schedule making production lines. The role involves collaboration with various departments to ensure service level achievement, resource planning, and customer satisfaction.

IS THIS JOB FOR YOU?

  • Collaborate closely with demand planning, purchasing, sales, product management, customer service, and operations to generate a comprehensive master demand plan for Maker #3 and #5.

  • Coordinate and review the weekly new forecasted demand vs. capacity for making work centers.

  • Create and maintain material part numbers for the plant in support of a stocking strategy that meets financial inventory budget objectives and stock availability.

  • Organize and efficiently schedule making production lines through the software platform, over a specified period.

  • Manage expedite requests, review Hold for Jumbo (HFJ), and achieve and maintain site service & output targets.

  • Confirm making production orders daily to add jumbo inventory to the system and consume raw materials against these orders.

  • Organize and create paperwork for offshore containers and secure customer delivery requirements to meet on-time reliability.

  • Utilize best practices to establish and progress the processes that synchronize the balance of supply and demand.

  • Execute and oversee the process, procedures, and data integrity that relates to a balanced plan.

  • Develop and maintain standard operating procedures for planning processes and systems.

  • Generate monthly reports and communicate forecast and inventory measurements to management.

  • Support all activities related to new product introductions.

  • Maintain manufacturing system and production control and costing ensuring that the information is accurate, timely, and up to date.

  • Provide an uninterrupted flow of work through Maker 3, Maker 5, and Primary Conversion departments.

TO MAKE SURE NOTHING IS FORGOTTEN

  • A seasoned Supply Chain professional demonstrating responsibility growth in an industrial/manufacturing environment.

  • Experience applying best practices in master scheduling, forecasting, procurement, and production planning.

  • APICS CPIM certification strongly preferred, CSCP certification a plus 1.

  • Excellent computer skills including Microsoft Office, advanced Excel skills, ERP with DRP/MRP functionality, and statistical software.

  • Team building skills with the ability to lead related cross-functional efforts.

  • Strong analytical skills coupled with an inquisitive and proactive nature.

  • Practical experience with Lean/Six Sigma principles.

  • Thorough knowledge and background in system SAP.

  • Good working knowledge of abrasives making and finishing would be a strong asset.

  • Community College diploma in Supply or Business Administration or equivalent work experience.

  • Previous leadership of unionized employees is a strong asset.
