POSITION LOCATION: OWEN SOUND UNION AFFILIATION: OPSEU – CLERICAL STATUS: PART-TIME WAGE RATE: $26.020 – $28.046 Reporting to the Manager of Medical Imaging, this position consists of patient service for the registering, booking, interviewing, scheduling and confirmation of patient visits as the primary focus. It also includes scheduled order entry and data quality.
Qualifications
- High school Diploma and/or post-secondary medical secretarial education or equivalent
- Successful completion of PM Access (testing and training is available through Organizational Development and Learning)
- Proven experience in clinical scheduling environment – which includes using Cerner ESM
- Ability to utilize Cerner patient information system, which includes ADT procedures, FirstNet tracking & triage registration, statistical verification, census reporting
- Excellent interpersonal and communication skills
- Attention to detail and accuracy
- Patient-service focused
- Ability to multi-task
- Microsoft Office experience in Word (to be tested)
- Typing – 30 WPM (to be tested)
- Medical terminology (to be tested)
- Ability to understand verbal and written instructions
- Capable of filing
- Ability to work all shifts
- Recent satisfactory attendance and performance records
- Knowledge of and adherence to Brightshores ‘CARE’ Behaviours (Collaboration, Accountability, Respect, Excellence)
- Advocates and supports a culture of patient safety and demonstrates an understanding of how the department service and assigned responsibilities contribute to overall patient safety at Brightshores through patient safety knowledge, skills and attitudes
