Why Join CBC/Radio-Canada Digital is a key part of our present and our future. CBC/Radio-Canada’s strategy is focused on becoming the first organization to provide a digital platform that delivers unique content and experiences for our audiences, by telling stories that reflect who they are.
This is a hybrid position with a mix of in-office and remote work. Work arrangements will be discussed with hiring managers per departmental guidelines. The Opportunity The Digital Business Intelligence team is looking for a data analyst to support our ICI TOU.TV business line and the team in charge of our OTT platform.
This is a key role where you will work closely with business teams to identify their needs, propose solutions, provide relevant access to data and continuously monitor the digital properties under your responsibility.
You will be expected to transform raw data into strategic insights to understand user behaviour, optimize our streaming platforms (websites, apps and connected TVs) and measure the impact of our digital content.
Acting as a consultant, you will provide recommendations — both upon request and through automation — and ensure your analysis aligns with the needs and road maps of our product teams and the various stakeholders with whom you collaborate, including the Research, UX, Development and Strategy teams.
Your Responsibilities Identify our audience’s habits and needs, and optimize their experience by:

- Analyze consumption data from all our digital platforms (website, mobile apps and connected TVs) to identify consumption trends, user profiles and viewing habits.
- Segment users based on their behaviour, engagement level and life cycle on our digital properties.
- Conduct analysis, based on product team needs and road maps, to track and analyze key performance indicators (KPIs) like new subscriber acquisition, churn rate, customer lifetime value (LTV) and video engagement metrics.
- Analyze subscription data from Zuora to understand the performance of various offers, promotions and billing cycles.
- Identify factors that influence subscriber retention and satisfaction.
Performing data analysis and modelling
- Identify, clean up, transform and synthesize large volumes of data using our Big Data environment (Databricks) or analytical tools (Adobe Analytics).
- Develop complex queries (SQL/Python/PySpark) and use notebooks for in-depth analysis and the creation of data models.
- Ensure the integrity, quality and accessibility of data by collaborating with our Metrics and Big Data teams to establish measurement and ingest strategies for our data lake.
- Follow the development and production standards defined by the team while ensuring compliance with privacy laws and regulations.
Reporting and visualizing data
- Design, develop and maintain Power BI dashboards with impactful visualizations, a relevant data model and robust automation to make data accessible across the organization.
- Prepare clear and compelling reports that simplify complex concepts for various stakeholders.
- Translate your analysis into concrete recommendations for our content, marketing and product teams to boost retention and loyalty.
- Regularly present your analysis and conclusions to a varied audience, including product managers, strategists, media line directors, marketing and communications managers, and executives.
What You Bring
- Graduate degree in a relevant field (business intelligence, e-commerce, marketing, statistics, mathematics, computer science, etc.).
- At least two years’ experience as data analyst, ideally in a digital environment.
- Strong proficiency with Power BI (visual design, DAX and PowerQuery/M).
- Experience with a digital analytics tool (Adobe Analytics or Google Analytics).
- Experience with cloud computing platforms, especially Databricks.
- Proficiency in SQL and Python (Pandas) for data manipulation; experience with PySpark an asset.
- Experience with subscription management platforms like Zuora an asset.
- Knowledge of the digital media ecosystem, streaming and video-on-demand services (SVOD/AVOD).
- Proficiency with digital content performance concepts and engagement metrics.
- Intellectual curiosity, analytical rigour and a keen attention to detail.
- Excellent communication and presentation skills, with an ability to simplify complex concepts.
- Ability to translate analysis into clear, strategic recommendations and act in a consultative role.
- Strong interest in digital and emerging technologies, as well as a passion for collaborative work.
Candidates may be subject to skills and knowledge testing.
We thank all applicants for their interest, but only candidates selected for an interview will be contacted.
