Overview Nisokapawino Forestry Management Corporation (NFMC) is a forest management service provider for Forest Management Licence (FML) 2 in The Pas, MB. NFMC is owned equally by Canadian Kraft Paper and Nekote Ltd. and strives to meet the objectives of the partnership – an enhanced relationship on the FML through forest management and development with Nekote Communities, members, and businesses.

Responsibilities Playing a lead role in the planning group which manages all aspects of forest management planning:
- Long term strategic Forest Management Plan, 2 Year Forest Management Operating Plans and all required reporting associated with those plans
- Related functions necessary to meet the requirements of Federal and Provincial Legislation and Regulation, the Partners of NFMC (CKP and Nekote LP), the Forest Management Licence Agreement, Third Party Certifications, and other stakeholders.
Assisting the General Manager in the development of annual budgets and strategic business planning and initiatives that support the delivery of the objectives of the NFMC Partnership.
The direction and performance of staff in the planning department.
Communication and collaboration with CKP Woodlands Staff, Nekote Staff, Accounting Staff and other employees where necessary and related to NFMC business.
Interfacing with government agencies, resource agencies or associations, communities, stakeholders, rightsholders, contractors, consultants, and the general public.
Working with Indigenous Communities and Leadership in a fashion that is reflective of the goals of NFMC and its parent Partners.
Qualifications Forestry Degree, Diploma or an appropriate combination of education and work experience.
A comprehensive understanding of Provincial & Federal Regulations, Natural Resource use in Canada and the evolving relationship between Governments and Indigenous Communities and Leadership, Strategic and Operational Forest Management, 3rd Party Certifications, Geographic Information Systems and Data Management Systems is required.
Strong relationship skills are a must, including navigating and managing all ranges of engagement (positive and negative) situations.
Strong written and oral communication skills are a must
Strong analytical skills and experience with and understanding of Woodlands Operations and Road Construction practices is desirable, including scope of work development and procurement process understanding.
