Our Calgary, Alberta location is seeking an experienced Ramp Operations Supervisor to support our diverse operations. This is a full-time temporary position. Successful candidates must be available to work the following days and shift:

  • Thursday through Monday
  • 10:00 to 18:00, subject to extend or change

Description:
The Ramp Operations Supervisor is responsible for overseeing, developing, administering, coordinating, and implementing the Ramp Agent programs within one or more divisions and/or departments. The Ramp Operations Supervisor is also responsible for ensuring all Ramp Agents work safely and follow proper procedures.

Responsibilities:

  • Ensure adherence of corporate, departmental, and OH&S policies and procedures inclusive of FHA’s, FLRA’s, and Toolbox Meetings.
  • Train ramp staff on Airline operational requirements for the aircraft.
  • Ensure KPI’s and monthly safety and service levels are met.
  • Lead and run staff members accordingly through Airlines training network.
  • Establish and lead a high-performance ground handling team to meet and exceed customer satisfaction.
  • Plan, design and perform ramp services according to the standards set by Executive Flight Centre, including loading/unloading, marshalling, and chocking aircraft, grooming aircraft including lavatory and potable water servicing as required.
  • Perform audits on handling, safety and security as required and involvement in implementation regarding aircraft handling.
  • Make sure all customer complaints are addressed and handled professionally, leaving the customer with a positive resolution.
  • Plan and prioritize work for self and staff.
  • Communicate changes in policy, procedures, products, services, or any other alterations that affect delivery of customer care.
  • Determine required supplies and equipment for ramp operations.
  • Troubleshoot issues within the ground handling process.
  • Ensure correct baggage loading information is given to each aircraft, including any ballast concerns.
  • Operate all ground service equipment as required.
  • Monitor staff attendance and performance and report issues daily to General Manager.
  • Provide positive and constructive feedback to staff members in a professional and courteous manner.
  • Effectively schedule manpower for assigned department.
  • Complete time-sheet approvals on a daily or weekly basis.
  • On-call duties as required.
  • Maintain a tidy and orderly work area exhibiting pride in work performance and contributing to a healthy and safe work environment.
  • Ensure exceptional, courteous, and respectful customer service.
  • Comply with and participate in the Company’s Health & Safety and Quality programs and initiatives.
  • Perform any other duties as required.

Qualifications and Experience:

  • A certificate or diploma in a related field is an asset.
  • Experience in an aviation operational role preferred.
  • Minimum 3 years of experience in a team lead or supervisory position.
  • Minimum 5 years of experience working below the wing, widebody handling would be considered an asset.
  • Class 5 driver’s license is required.
  • Airport Security Clearance and Driver’s Abstract is required as a condition of employment.
  • Obtain and maintain a restricted operator’s certificate (radio license) within 60 days of employment.
  • First Aid and CPR would be an asset.
  • Able to effectively communicate both verbally and in writing.
  • Able to work in inclement weather, overtime, and extended shifts as required.
  • Able to lift or move up to 60 lbs as required.
  • Highly motivated and able to work with minimal or no supervision.
  • Must have basic mathematics, trouble shooting skills and excellent attention to detail.
  • Strong customer service skills with the ability to deal with people sensitively, tactfully, diplomatically, and professionally always.
  • Able to analyse and interpret the needs of customers and offer the appropriate options, solutions, and resolutions required.
  • A strong work ethic and positive team attitude.
  • Proficiency with MS Suite including Word, Excel and Outlook is required.
  • Able to work well under pressure and respond quickly in a dynamic and changing environment.
  • Able to multi-task and establish priorities.
  • Able to work collaboratively as a productive member of the EFC Team.
