What You’ll Be Doing
Duties and Responsibilities:
- Fill propane cylinders and prepare tanks for delivery.
- Operate a forklift to load and unload propane, equipment, and parts.
- Deliver propane to customer sites and ensure all deliveries are secure and compliant with company procedures.
- Maintain accurate delivery, pickup, and customer records, securing signatures as needed.
- Report delivery or pickup challenges to your supervisor and share potential sales opportunities with management.
- Verify orders against deliveries to ensure accuracy.
- Communicate with the branch team if behind schedule so customers can be updated.
- Assist with ordering parts, equipment, and inventory management.
- Wash, dry, and detail equipment using pressure washers and other tools.
- Help with equipment loading/unloading, fueling, and yard organization.
- Inspect returned equipment for damage, report issues, and complete service tags.
- Follow all health and safety policies.
- Collaborate with team members and supervisors to ensure smooth workflow.
- Perform other duties as required.
What You’ll Bring to the Team
Qualifications and Requirements:
- Valid Class G/5 driver’s license with a clean or satisfactory driver’s abstract (maximum 3 demerit points). Must provide an updated abstract upon request.
- Familiarity with local roads.
- Previous LPG/propane handling or fuel delivery experience is an asset.
- Experience with inventory management and/or warehouse operations preferred.
- Strong customer-service skills with a professional, courteous attitude.
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
- Physical stamina and ability to stand for long periods. Must be able to lift approximately 50 lbs.
- Comfortable working outdoors year-round.
- Willingness to work overtime during peak seasonal demand (e.g., winter months).
- Commitment to job-specific training (Propane Training Institute, TDG, etc.).
- Strong problem-solving, organizational, and adaptability skills.
- Mechanical aptitude and/or equipment operation experience is an asset.
- Interest in learning more about construction equipment and the rental industry.
- Comfortable using computers/technology for inspections, inventory, and recordkeeping.
