Overview

Title: Team Assistant, London Mobile

Status: Permanent Full-Time

Hours of Work: An average of 40.25 hours per week, scheduled in 12-hour shifts across a 7-day operation. Flexibility with shifts is required to meet organizational needs.

Starting Rate of Pay: $23.03 per hour

Reporting to the Program Manager, the successful candidate must be flexible to change scheduled hours based on the needs of the program. The Team Assistant will provide support to Program Managers, Personal Attendants, and Cheshire consumers. Working collaboratively with all members of Cheshire to develop, improve, and deliver effective and efficient coordination of attendant services in support of the organization’s operation.

Tasks and responsibilities of this role may vary in order to best support the program, the Program Manager and fellow Team Assistants with any administrative duties and program schedule. This position may travel within London to the various Program Office locations.

Role Requirements

  • Post-secondary education in healthcare, administration or similar field considered an asset.
  • Experience working in a unionized environment and working with company policies and a collective agreement to schedule staff
  • Demonstrated intermediate proficiency using Microsoft Office software: Word, Excel, and Outlook.
  • Excellent interpersonal. active listening, and communication skills
  • Understanding of the attendant service needs of individuals with physical disabilities
  • Demonstrated ability to balance work and prioritize deadlines in a fast-paced, ever-changing environment
  • Experience working in a team and independent environment, needs to be a self-motivator and organized.
  • A valid driver’s license and private vehicle will be required for local travel
  • Clear Police Vulnerable Sector Check

Role Responsibilities

  • Using provided to training to follow organizational policies to prepare Personal Attendant and consumer schedules
  • Assist with program specific orientation and scheduling for new staff. Creating a welcoming environment for everyone
  • Assist with notifying staff and consumers of scheduling changes and work with other Team Assistants to cover vacant bookings
  • Clerical duties as assigned: typing, filing, photocopying, taking meeting minutes and preparing meeting agendas.
  • Complete and track purchase orders for program needs and contracted services
  • Tracking vacancies, program movement, and other data that may be used to compile or verify program/organizational statistics
  • Work with Cheshire’s Health and Safety team to promote a safe work environment
