ABOUT THE POSITION:

The Manager will be responsible for coordinating, and managing all nursing operations. They will ensure the provision of optimal patient care, high professional standards, and will develop and implement policies and procedures that enhance our services. In this role, you will also provide direct patient care, including comprehensive assessments, treatment planning, medication management, and follow-up care. The ideal candidate has experience in addiction medicine and is dedicated to supporting individuals on their path to recovery.

YOUR DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:

Nurse Manager:

  • Support all nursing personnel (registered nurses, RPNs, PSW, etc.)
  • Develop and implement policies, standards and protocols for the nursing department.
  • Set and develop departmental goals and objectives with support from Nurse Practitioner, Medical Director and Executive Director
  • Collaborate and support Care Teams model.
  • Manager and oversee monthly nursing schedule for both Trafalgar Treatment Centre and NeWorld Detox
  • Oversee programmatic compliance to CARF standards
  • Cover vacant shifts when needed
  • Plan and support admission, nursing, and patient care processes.
  • Resolve issues and deficiencies when needed with the support of Nurse Practitioners, Medical Director and ED
  • Mentor and provide guidance; Supervise, train, and evaluate nursing staff.
  • Manage budgets, resources and data effectively with the support of Client Services Manager
  • Advocate for the rights and needs of patients.
  • Stay informed about the latest advancements in nursing and addiction treatments.
  • Ensure strict compliance with Provincial and College regulations, as well as maintaining the highest standards in nursing care.

Registered Nurse:

  • Provide direct patient care, including conducting comprehensive assessments, establishing diagnoses, and formulating treatment plans.
  • Prescribe and manage medications, monitor efficacy, and adjust treatment as necessary.
  • Collaborate with a multidisciplinary team to develop, implement, and assess patient-centered treatment plans.
  • Educate patients and their families about addiction, recovery, and related health issues.
  • Monitor and evaluate patient progress, adjusting treatment plans as necessary.
  • Conduct research to improve patient outcomes and advance the field of addiction medicine.
  • Advocate for the rights and needs of patients.

WHAT YOU’LL NEED TO HAVE:

  • Current Registered Nurse license.
  • Master’s degree in Nursing from an accredited institution.
  • Specialized training or certification in addiction medicine preferred.
  • Experience working in a substance abuse treatment setting.
  • Excellent interpersonal and communication skills.
  • Ability to work as part of a team and to make decisions independently.
  • Strong problem-solving abilities and attention to detail.
  • Demonstrated commitment to compassionate, patient-centered care.
  • Proven experience in a similar senior managerial position.
  • Understanding of nursing best practices.
  • A team player with excellent communication and leadership skills.
