A.B.M. Tool & Die Co. Ltd. is currently looking for a Quality Technician for the dedicated Night Shift. If you have experience in quality inspection and manufacturing, we’d love to hear from you!
Main Functions
Addressing all quality issues including ongoing inspection of production activity, maintenance of inspection records, control of non-conforming product and destructive testing.
Duties
Perform all destructive testing using tensile testers, weld penetration and other equipment and techniques as required by internal and customer specifications. Conducts incoming/receiving inspections of secondary processed parts and raw materials as required. Maintain and complete all inspection records and file in designated areas. Tag all non-conforming product and issue non-conformance reports. Records quantity of parts taken from production for destructive testing purposes and properly disposes such parts after completion of destructive testing. Ensures destructive testing equipment remains in good working condition. Act as a back up to run written CMM program. Assist in performing R & R studies of gauges. First-off, in-process, and last-off inspections and audits of production parts and processes. Distribution of all inspection reports and ID tags/travel cards for assigned production areas. Ensure all approvals for products have been properly inspected to control plans/inspection reports. Ensure all inspected product/processes have been properly tagged as to their quality status. Ensure any additional information required internally or by customers is properly recorded and submitted in a timely manner (e.g. SPC data). Ensure all destructive testing is performed as per internal and customer specifications. Maintain a clean and tidy workspace. Adhere to and ensure all obligations and requirements under Section 28 of the Occupational Health and Safety Act are met. Adhere to and ensure all obligations and duties outlined in the Workplace Safety and Insurance Act are met. Work in compliance with IATF 16949, 5S and all other company policies and procedures. Support and motivate all department team members to achieve company, department and work-personal goals. Maintain strict confidentiality regarding all company tooling, processes, methods, customer and supplier information and business. Keep abreast of, informing management of new technologies and methods. Perform other duties as required by Department Manager or General Manager.
Qualifications
High school diploma or Mechanical Engineer Technician. Minimum 3 years of on-the-job experience in Automotive / Metal Stamping Manufacturing a must Experience to run written CMM program an asset Ability to read part drawings and specifications. Basic understanding of the fundamentals of quality. Excellent knowledge of all QA measurements, destructive testing, equipment and techniques. Excellent communication and interpersonal skills. Excellent English skills both oral and written.
