Accounts Receivable Assistant – Part Time
About the role
The Accounts Receivable Assistant reports to the Controller, and in co-ordination with other Accounts Receivable staff, responsible for ensuring timely and accurate entry of account information into the accounting system.
GENERAL RESPONSIBILITIES
- Responsible for following company related policies
- Maintains knowledge of and, executes all Company Policies and Procedures as required by the organization and other regulatory agencies
- Maintains and represents a professional and positive image for the company at all times
- Functions as a team member
RESPONSIBILITIES AND DUTIES
- Responsible for assisting with AR duties and other accounting functions as necessary
- Responsible for assisting with the maintaining accurate customer files.
- Responsible for assisting with processing and submitting customer invoices
- Assist in bank deposits and posting payments received from customers
- Assist in processing credit card and EFT payments from customers
- Assist in monitoring outstanding accounts receivable and communicating with customer for collections
- Assist with issuing timely monthly statements to send to customers.
- Provide assistance to general accounting duties as necessary
- Provide assistance during period and fiscal year end close.
WORK EXPERIENCE REQUIREMENTS
- Minimum 2+ years’ experience in similar accounting roles
EDUCATION REQUIREMENTS
- Completion of accounting courses an asset
SKILLS REQUIRED
- Conversion rates of metric versus imperial units
- Ability to work well with immediate supervisor and assist with prioritized tasks as directed
- Excellent verbal and email communication skills
- Ability to problem solve and work independently as well as part of a team
- Ability to work efficiently in a fast-paced and dynamic environment
- Strong organizational skills and high attention to detail
- Medium Level of competency with Microsoft Excel
- Microsoft Great Plains experience an asset
Wages: $23.00/hour to $25.00/hour
