We’re currently seeking an experienced Travelling Concrete Reinforcing Trainer to support teammate onboarding, technical skill development, and detailing capabilities across our Western Canada branches.
Position Summary
The Travelling Concrete Reinforcing Trainer plays a vital role in delivering consistent, high-quality training to new and existing detailing teammates across multiple locations. This individual will support both foundational and advanced training needs, and serve as a key technical resource for branch leadership and detailing supervisors.
Key Responsibilities
- Deliver hands-on onboarding training for new hires at their home branches, ensuring understanding of detailing tools, workflows, and safety standards.
- Provide ongoing technical coaching to experienced teammates, both remotely and during in-person site visits.
- Train multiple teammates simultaneously when required, ensuring engagement and clarity for all participants.
- Identify branch- and individual-level skill gaps and collaborate with supervisors to tailor training accordingly.
- Help build and maintain a training curriculum that reflects Nucor best practices, software enhancements, and process improvements.
- Travel extensively to various branches in Western Canada to deliver consistent and engaging training sessions.
- Act as a technical advisor for troubleshooting detailing challenges and supporting workflow optimization.
- Monitor training progress, provide structured feedback, and support teammates in reaching development milestones.
- Reinforce a culture of learning, safety, continuous improvement, and operational accountability.
Qualifications
- Minimum 10 years of experience in rebar detailing, fabrication, or technical training within a construction or manufacturing setting.
- Proven success in mentoring, coaching, or formal training roles.
- Strong knowledge of AutoCAD, RebarCAD, Navision, and detailing best practices.
- Excellent communication, facilitation, and interpersonal skills with the ability to tailor messages for different learning styles.
- Comfortable with frequent travel (up to 70%) and working independently across branches.
- Detail-oriented with strong organizational and time-management skills.
- 3D modelling experience (e.g., Revit, Tekla, or equivalent) is strongly preferred and considered a major asset.
- Experience developing and delivering training in both 2D and 3D rebar detailing environments.
- Familiarity with CRSI/ACI standards and industry codes.
- Bilingualism (English/French) is an asset.

- Reporting to: Regional Detailing Lead – Western Canada
- Travel: Up to 70%, typically 1-2 weeks per branch visit
- Safety: Must comply with Nucor’s safety protocols during all branch visits and training sessions
