Systems Testing/ QA Specialist - Senior

Job Overview
We are seeking an experienced Systems Testing / QA Specialist with over 10 years of software testing experience in enterprise-level IT environments. The ideal candidate will have strong expertise in both manual and automated testing, test planning, performance testing, API testing, and end-to-end quality assurance of large-scale applications. The successful candidate will work closely with project managers, developers, business analysts, and stakeholders to ensure software solutions meet business, functional, and technical requirements while maintaining high quality standards.
Key Responsibilities
Develop comprehensive testing strategies, test plans, test cases, and test scripts. Plan, organize, and execute testing activities throughout the Software Development Life Cycle (SDLC). Perform manual, automated, functional, integration, regression, system, performance, and user acceptance testing (UAT). Design, develop, and maintain automated test scripts. Execute API testing using tools such as Postman. Perform performance and load testing using tools like JMeter or LoadRunner. Identify, document, track, and verify software defects using defect management tools. Collaborate with developers, business analysts, project managers, and stakeholders to resolve issues. Support Agile, Scrum, and Waterfall project methodologies. Prepare test reports, defect reports, and quality assurance documentation. Ensure compliance with QA standards, security best practices, and accessibility requirements (AODA). Participate in continuous improvement of QA processes and automation frameworks.
Required Qualifications
Must Have 10+ years of experience in software testing within enterprise-level IT environments. Strong experience in manual testing and automated testing. Hands-on experience planning, developing, and executing automated testing.
Experience with automation tools such as
Selenium Postman (API Testing) Experience with performance testing tools such as: JMeter LoadRunner Experience creating: Test Strategies Test Plans Test Cases Test Scripts Test Reports Strong understanding of: Functional Testing Integration Testing System Testing Regression Testing Performance Testing User Acceptance Testing (UAT) Experience using defect tracking tools such as: JIRA Azure DevOps Knowledge of QA compliance standards and security testing best practices.
Technical Skills
Strong SQL and database testing experience. Knowledge of Oracle databases.
Experience working with cloud platforms
Microsoft Azure Amazon Web Services (AWS) Experience with CI/CD tools: Jenkins Git GitLab Knowledge of Software Development Life Cycle (SDLC). Understanding of version control systems. Familiarity with automated testing frameworks.
Requirements
Preferred Qualifications
Experience with Commercial Off-The-Shelf (COTS) applications. Knowledge of object-oriented testing methodologies. Experience with CASE tools. Knowledge of Information Management principles and best practices. Experience with one or more programming languages. Public sector (Ontario Government/OPS) QA experience. Knowledge of OPS Quality Assurance Standards and Practices. Extensive experience with AODA accessibility testing and compliance.
