#About the Role

Mount Royal University (MRU) is seeking a technical specialist and strategic leader to join our Marketing and Communications (MarCom) team as a Digital Marketing Strategist. This new 18-month term position is responsible for the strategic implementation, governance, and optimization of MRU’s institutional Digital Display Network (DDN).

As the primary point of contact for the DDN, in collaboration with Facilities Management and Information Technology Services (ITS), you will lead the campus-wide rollout of this platform, ensuring it strengthens brand alignment, enhances the student experience, and serves as a vital tool for institutional priorities and crisis communications.

You will be part of a collaborative, high-energy team dedicated to advancing MRU’s brand. This role offers the opportunity to build a digital ecosystem from the ground up that directly impacts how our community interacts with the campus.

This is a full-time, Limited Term position, working 35 hours per week, ending on September 30, 2027.

##Responsibilities

-**Strategy & Governance:**Develop a strategic roadmap for the DDN and establish governance frameworks, content standards, and performance metrics. -**Implementation & Coordination:**Lead the phased rollout in collaboration with ITS, Facilities Management, and external vendors. -**Campus Collaborator:**Act as a subject matter expert to with faculties and departments, providing onboarding, training and strategic advice. -**Innovation:**Identify opportunities to integrate the DDN with other institutional platforms and monitor emerging industry trends and accessibility standards.

##Qualifications

  • A Bachelor’s degree in Marketing, Communications, Business, Digital Media, or a related field.
  • Tech focused individual with 5–8 years of experience leading technology implementation initiatives in complex organizations. -Core Skills:
    • Proven track record in developing governance frameworks and managing cross-functional stakeholder relationships.

    • Experience in vendor relationship management and integrating digital tools into broader marketing strategies.

    • Experience working in a project team across a large organization

    • Strong strategic thinking, problem-solving abilities, and the capacity to translate technical concepts for diverse audiences. -**Assets:**Knowledge of digital signage platforms, accessibility standards, project management training, or experience in a post-secondary/public sector environment.

Salary:$75,147.80 - $95,113.20 per annum
