About the opportunity:
Christie's Product Management team is looking for a Sr. Product Manager to managing all aspects of product development – from conception, to production, to end of life. As part of our team, you will have the opportunity the candidate must have a mix of business, technical, and interpersonal skills to ensure that Christie Digital Systems can solve problems for our customers while ensuring that we have a coherent product portfolio that achieves growth and profitability objectives. This product manager position will have an emphasis on business processes.

Responsibilities:

  • Provide Product Management interface to other functional groups within Christie.
  • Responsible for coordinating and determining pricing strategy.
  • Conduct competitive analysis of competing products, market trends, and enabling technologies.
  • Demonstrated ability to define innovative products in collaboration with system architects, including development of business case justifications and creation of requirements documentation.
  • Collaboratively work with supply chain, engineering, program managers, and sales to bring new products to market on time, within budget, and with sufficient features and differentiation to truly solve problems for our customers.
  • Support sales staff to visit customers to understand their needs, find solutions to their challenges, and provide technical support for sales team members.
  • Manage and orchestrate administrative tasks within Product Management – Including trade association memberships, trade show travel and preparation, Engineering Change Order process for marketing collateral, management of team budgets and expenses.
  • Support design for manufacturability analysis with operations, as well as required production capacity.
  • Support innovation, quality, and serviceability with engineering and validation teams.
  • Adopt product design and features with awareness of market channels and targeted industry segments of customers.
  • Support makes vs buy designs with supply chain team including whole products and product sub-systems.
  • Communicate strategic direction of product portfolio to all adjacent internal.

The experience and skills we value:

  • Bachelor of Engineering or a related field.
  • A minimum of 3–5 years of relevant experience in technical product management, with exposure to an international customer base.
  • Experienced with Audio Visual Technology, including projection, direct view, and industrial products covering visible, infrared, and ultraviolet spectra.
  • Lead and support activities related to product discovery, market research, and voice of customer initiative.
  • Demonstrated experience collaborating with sales teams to drive business development initiatives that achieve revenue and profitability targets.
  • Develop business models for products including sales forecasts, costs, and development budget resulting in return on investment metrics.
  • Proficient in Microsoft Office (including Excel pivot tables) and able to quickly learn MRP, Power BI, and other enterprise software.
  • Ability to thrive in an environment with unstructured problems and tasks. Must have ability to organize, define, and execute work to hit growth and profitability objectives.
  • Must have business maturity to know how to make trade-offs, and self-awareness of when to press forward and when to pause and get help.

What will put you ahead:

  • Experience with business case analysis, product development, requirements generation.
  • Experience managing Profit & Loss (P&L) with pricing, development budget, and expense management.
  • Aptitude to be cross functional in both business and engineering topics.
  • Experience managing customer and supplier relationships.
  • Experience in business development.
  • Ability to travel on relatively short notice on an as needed basis.
  • Basic understanding of lab skills needed for proof of concept and product debug /optimization (working in conjunction with systems engineers).
  • Experience with multimedia equipment installation and service.
  • Excellent communications and customer service skills (verbal, written & analytical).
