We are hiring for a full-time Trade and Foreign Exchange (FX) Specialist for our Cash Management team!

What you’ll be doing:
- Act as the primary resource for commercial and small business trade and FX needs, including letters of credit, lines of credit, documentary collections, bank guarantees, and currency risk mitigation strategies.
- Collaborate with Treasury to structure and deliver trade and FX products to support members with supply chain financing options, including working capital needs e.g.: lines of credit, and FX risk mitigation strategies e.g. USD forwards.
- Consult with commercial and small business members to understand their cross-border/ international needs and recommend appropriate trade and FX solutions.
- Coordinate and process trade transactions and foreign exchange contracts in compliance with internal policies and regulatory requirements.
- Ensure accurate documentation and timely settlement of all trade and FX activities.
- Monitor currency markets to assist commercial and small business members in making informed decisions.
- Promote internal awareness of trade and FX products and procedures to enhance understanding and referral activity.
- Identify and mitigate operational and compliance risks related to trade and FX transactions - ensure adherence to all anti-money laundering (AML) and know-your-client (KYC) regulations in all transactions.
- Contribute to the development and refinement of trade and FX product offerings.
- Stay current on global trade trends, FX markets, and regulatory changes.
What you bring:
- Bachelor’s degree in Finance, International Business, Economics or a related field.
- 5+ years of experience in Trade, FX and Business Banking.
- Either a CPA, CFA, CTP or an MBA designation would be considered an asset.
- Strong understanding of international trade practices, FX markets, and risk mitigation strategies.
- Excellent communication, analytical, and problem-solving skills.
- Proficiency in trade finance platforms and treasury systems is an asset.
- Strong knowledge of trade instruments (e.g., letters of credit, documentary collections, bank guarantees) and FX products (e.g., USD forwards).
Other Role Requirements:
- This is a hybrid role working 2 days remotely and 3 days on site per week (Calgary or Edmonton)
- The position includes periodic in-person meetings with members and other internal and external stakeholders, which will require travel as needed.
- The business may from time to time ask for branch and/or department support for special projects and/or areas experiencing staff shortages. All employees may be asked to volunteer to assist in areas of need during these times. These assignments could result in a change of hours, location, and/or travel.
