Position Summary

Administrative Temporary Part-Time New Contract Position (three-year contract)

The Part-Time Researcher will contribute to the strategic initiatives of the Centre for Health Care Research & Innovation, including supporting research activities, establishing quantitative and mixed methodology protocols, conducting data analysis and preparing evaluations, proposals and reports.

Successful candidates will be required to conduct work within Ontario and must be available to work on campus as required. It is anticipated that this position will meet the needs of the department 10 hours per week, remotely, with the occasional need to travel to campus or external partner sites.

Responsibilities

  • Support the planning, implementation, evaluation and reporting for applied research projects under the direction of the Director, according to established reporting guidelines and aligned with clinical best practices for conducting research
  • Establish quantitative and mixed methods research and evaluation procedures and complete data analysis
  • Assist the Director in preparing knowledge translation products such as manuscripts, conference submissions, lay summary documents, reports, etc., for external partners
  • Engage with prospective partners and collaborators in applied research projects

Qualifications

  • A Master of Science degree in health care or a related field is required
  • Minimum five years of relevant professional experience, including quantitative and mixed methodology data analysis experience in a health care setting (i.e. long-term care, RAI-MDS dataset), is required
  • Advanced level of knowledge and expertise in data analysis using quantitative, qualitative and mixed methods
  • Ability to utilize data analysis software such as Excel, SPSS
  • Experience publishing manuscripts in peer-reviewed journals
  • Experience supporting the execution of federal funded research grants
  • Experience and knowledge to conduct research with vulnerable populations
  • Strong organizational and time management skills
  • Effective problem-solving and evaluation skills
  • Knowledge of policies and practices in academic and health care settings (e.g., colleges and universities, hospitals, long-term care, etc.)
  • Knowledge of and experience working with professional organizations
