Summary:
Under the general direction from the Operations Manager, Controls Programmer will work on the controls and electrical aspect of projects while considering safety, regulatory codes, and environmental precautions.
Job Terms:
Permanent, full- time position
Responsibilities:
- Program PLC and HMI
- Develop, install and maintain new control systems
- Work collaboratively with internal teams; liaise with customers, suppliers, and contractors
- Perform electromechanical troubleshooting
- Oversee 3rd party contractors
- Ensure compliance with the Canadian and international health and safety regulations and quality standards
- Other duties as assigned
Qualifications
- College or University degree in the Engineering field
- 3+ years of experience with controls system software (Allen Bradley/Siemens PLC, etc.)
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite (Word and Excel)
- Electrical Design and Review, preferably AutoCAD
- Controls commissioning and starting up experience
- Strong problem-solving and analytical skills in control software and programming, hardware control, press control, including discrete and integrated motion control
- Valid driver’s license and passport, ability to travel to domestic and international customer facilities
- Ability to work in a fast-paced environment, work well under pressure, meet tight deadlines, and pay close attention to details
