The Commercial Lines National Ratemaking & Analysis and Business Solutions team is looking for a candidate to join them as an actuarial team lead in the rate-level sector - you may be just the person we’re looking for! More specifically, you will be required to: Oversee the production of rate indications for both auto and property & liability products nationally Review the current process for rate indications, identify areas of improvements and find innovative solutions to make it more sophisticated and efficient Develop and recommend rate adjustment strategies Work closely with external and internal stakeholders to socialize profitability outlook and rate-level proposals Coach team members and participate in their career development discussions Contribute and assist in team planning as well as strategic planning on team’s short-term and long-term vision What we offer* Competitive salary and annual bonus 4 weeks of flexible vacation starting in the first year Defined benefit pension plan that provides predictable, stable income throughout retirement Group insurance including telemedicine Reimbursement of health and wellness expenses and telework equipment * Benefits apply based on eligibility criteria. #LI-Hybrid, #ONAC11* What you bring to the table Bachelor's degree in actuarial science A minimum of eight years of relevant experience, including extensive experience with the overall rate-level analysis process Please note that other combinations of qualifications and relevant experience may be considered Successful completion of at least five CAS exams Knowledge of French is required for positions in Quebec Advanced proficiency of English due to the nature of the duties or work tools or because the position involves interactions with English-speaking partners, members and/or clients Knowledge of P&C commercial lines insurance Advanced knowledge of Microsoft Office Suite, SAS, VBA, RADAR, Emblem and R Action oriented, Customer Focus, Differences, Interpersonal Savvy, Nimble learning, Strategic mindset Trade Union (If applicable) At Desjardins, we believe in equity, diversity and inclusion.
