The Opportunity

We’re looking to fill an open role for a Senior Registered Plans Administrator to join our Operations team. Reporting to the Supervisor, Registered Plans the Senior Registered Plans Administrator is responsible for ensuring the overall administration of registered plans is consistent and in accordance with company policies, Canada Revenue Agency Income Tax rulings, governing pension legislation and CIRO (formerly MFDA and IIROC) regulations, ensuring deadlines are met. The incumbent provides backup for the supervisor, maintaining reporting, providing training for Registered Plans Administrators and ensures that escalations are addressed.

You hold yourself accountable and continuously look for ways to improve What your day looks like: Complete CIRO (formerly IIROC and MFDA) month-end reconciliations Complete Daily Trustee Settlement for CWT Complete Trustee Reporting and Annual Certificate of Compliance An active participant in Friday Operations meetings, industry committee meetings Train and assign coverage of CIRO Reg Plan tasks Pro-actively offers assistance when required and maintains a positive attitude as a senior member of the team Confirm all audits are completed by the administrators by deadlines Identify issues and implement checks and balances to avoid occurrences in the future Research, report and promptly resolve escalated issues Ensure year-end tasks are completed prior to year-end Enter DOR reports, Monthly Deadlines s/s and the Operations Dashboard Identify opportunities for process improvements, implementing changes and updating departmental procedures and manuals Actively shares updates with the rest of the team and management to ensure all are aware of procedural updates Your experience and skills: Post-secondary degree in accounting, business or finance Minimum of 5 years of experience in Registered Plans Administration or Tax reporting role in a CIRO (formerly IIROC or MFDA) environment Industry knowledge of CIRO, CRA and RQ rules and regulations preferred, completion of the CSC or IFIC would be an asset Experience with Dataphile is a strong asset Excellent communication and active listening skills Leadership and mentorship skills with the ability to delegate effectively Ability to work independently and in a team environment Exemplary time management and organizational skills Pro-active and superior problem-solving abilities and strong analytical skills Excellent customer service orientation Extremely detail oriented and accurate Maintain composure and work well under pressure, meeting time sensitive deadlines Advanced computer skills in MS Office and Adobe Acrobat Fluent communication skills in English are required and bilingual skills in French are an asset. Salary

This position is posted with an expected salary range of $55,000 - $70,000 CAD annually. Individual compensation packages are based on various factors unique to each candidate and the requirements of the position.
