Job Summary & Key Responsibilities
HLTH 3010.03: Introduction to Research Methods
COURSE DESCRIPTION: This interprofessional collaborative learning course provides students with knowledge, skills, and experience in critiquing and integrating health research into practice. Students will learn about the philosophical underpinnings of research, research ethics, design, issues in measurement, sampling, data collection strategies, data analysis and report writing including qualitative, quantitative, and mixed methods approaches.
FORMAT: Online Delivery
RESPONSIBILITIES: The sessional instructor will be responsible for one-third of the workload, involving lectures (beginning in February), and for marking one-third of the student cohort (Jan-April 2026)—approximately 20 students.
Qualifications/Requirements of Position
Knowledge of health services research and critical thinking methods. Previous teaching experience desired. A relevant master’s degree preferred. Experience with Brightspace or equivalent learning management systems would be considered an asset. Excellent organizational and written communication skills are required.
Salary Range/Pay Rate
The pay will be one third of the CUPE rate for half credit.
