JOB TITLE: Manager, Enterprise Data Platform & Governance

The Manager, Enterprise Data Platform & Governance will lead the team responsible for building, operating, scaling, and securing ACV’s core data infrastructure. In this role, you will be the custodian of the company’s data assets, ensuring that data is seamlessly ingested, reliably transformed, robustly secured, and strictly governed. This is a foundational infrastructure and operational leadership role reporting to head of IT. It serves as the bridge between IT and business units, making secure, high-quality data readily available to the enterprise while proactively aligning with evolving business needs. The role combines platform leadership, governance authority, Implementation and evolutionary leadership, operational accountability and business enablement, ensuring that ACV’s data becomes a strategic asset.

Key Responsibilities

Data Platform Management & Operations Ingestion & Architecture: Oversee the design and scaling of robust ETL/ELT data pipelines to ingest structured, semi-structured, and unstructured data from disparate sources. Transformation: Manage the development, standardization and optimization data transformation layers (raw/curated/sematic) within the data lake/warehouse to ensure the data is clean, performant, and structured for downstream use. Infrastructure & Operations: Own the integrity, availability, reliability and performance of the end-to-end enterprise data platform. Manage the cloud data infrastructure footprint and optimize computing/storage costs. Oversee incident management and be the escalation point. Continuous Improvement: Establish a run / grow / transform operating model, striving to improve data onboarding speed, time-to-insight, operating cost, data quality and trust.

Data Governance, Security, & Compliance

Data Governance: Define, promote and enforce an enterprise data governance framework. Data Security: Partner with Information Security to implement strict access controls, data masking, table/row/column-level security, and encryption standards. Compliance: Ensure the data platform strictly complies with relevant regulations (e.g., GDPR, PIPEDA, Law 25, SOC2, PCI-DSS) Quality & Lineage: Establish automated data quality monitoring, alerting, and data lineage mapping to track data from source to target. Retention: Define and enforce data life cycle management policies to manage the retention and deletion of sensitive data.

Data Strategy & Evangelization

Data Vision: Define and evolve ACV’s overarching enterprise data platform roadmap and strategy. Culture Champion: Act as a data evangelist, driving adoption across business units. Promote a data-driven culture and educate stakeholders on platform capabilities. Strategic Integration: Align enterprise data strategy with broader business transformation initiatives (CRM, CDP, reservation systems).

Team Leadership & Business Enablement

People Management: Lead, mentor, and grow a high-performing team of Data specialists, and Semantic Modelers, platform & operations roles Vendor Management: Manage internal and external (vendor / SI) resources. Internal SLA Management: Define and maintain Service Level Agreements (SLAs) for data availability and freshness for downstream data consumers. Interface Lead: Act as the primary interface between business and IT data teams. Intake, prioritize, and enable new data and analytics use cases from the business teams. Stewardship: Drive accountability and clarity between IT platform and business data ownership roles. Insight Driving: Proactively identify opportunities with business units to leverage data and improve revenue optimization, customer insights or operational efficiency.

WHAT YOU BRING TO THE TEAM

Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Computer Science, Data Science, or a related field 10+ years in of data platform, or data analytics experience 5+ years of experience in years in leadership roles managing teams and delivery Microsoft Azure certifications (Azure Solutions Architect, Azure Data Engineer, or equivalent preferred) Strong ownership mindset with operational rigor Ability to influence vendors and senior business stakeholders Proven ability to bridge business and technical stakeholders Pragmatic decision‑making and problem‑solving Strong mentorship abilities Proven experience implementing data lake / lakehouse / data warehouse architectures Demonstrated ability to operate in lean IT organizations with partner‑led delivery models Experience with privacy laws, data security, governance, and compliance concepts (GDPR, Canadian privacy act, PCI-DSS, PII) Knowledge of agility principles.

Bilingual French and English (verbal and written)
