About the Opportunity
Taymor is seeking an experienced Controller to join our Finance team in Vancouver, BC. Reporting to the Vice President, Finance, this is a leadership role responsible for ensuring the integrity of our financial operations, strengthening internal controls, and delivering accurate, timely financial reporting that supports strategic decision-making.
This role is ideal for a hands-on leader who thrives in both operational execution and continuous improvement, while developing a high-performing team.
Your key responsibilities will include:

Leading, mentoring, and developing the accounting team (6) to deliver high-quality financial services across the organization
-
Overseeing full-cycle accounting, including month-end, quarter-end, and year-end close processes
-
Ensuring accurate and timely preparation of financial statements in compliance with regulatory and banking requirements
-
Establishing and maintaining strong internal controls, policies, and procedures to mitigate risk and ensure compliance
-
Managing cash flow, including forecasting, asset management, and foreign currency hedging strategies
-
Overseeing accounts receivable and payable functions, including credit risk assessments and collections
-
Partnering with cross-functional leaders and the senior leadership team to provide financial insights, analysis, and KPI reporting
-
Supporting budgeting and forecasting processes, including variance analysis and recommendations
-
Leading audit processes and acting as the primary liaison with external auditors
-
Driving process improvements, system enhancements, and finance best practices across the organization
About You
To qualify, you will bring:
-
CPA designation (CPA, CA, CGA, or CMA) in good standing
-
7–10 years of progressive accounting experience, including at least 5 years in a leadership role
-
Proven experience overseeing full accounting functions, including reporting, cash management, and compliance
-
Strong knowledge of ERP systems and financial processes
-
Ability to influence and collaborate across all levels of the organization

Experience driving process improvements and implementing best practices

Strong leadership skills with a focus on developing and empowering teams

A proactive, solutions-oriented mindset with high attention to detail
Most importantly, you are a strategic thinker who can balance big-picture insight with hands-on execution, and who takes ownership of delivering results on time with integrity and accountability.
Potential Growth
Exposure to business analysis, business intelligence, IT, AI, and/or payroll functions is considered a strong asset. Candidates who demonstrate interest and capability in expanding into these areas will be well-positioned for future growth.
This role is intentionally considered as a potential successor to the Vice President, Finance, with opportunities to progressively take on broader leadership responsibilities.
