Full Time, Temporary (Up to 6 months), Onsite

The City of Medicine Hat is seeking a dedicated Administrative Support IV to join our Community Development Department. Your key responsibilities
- Provide reception services, answer inquiries, and direct requests to the appropriate department.
- Manage information flow through phone, email, and other correspondence.
- Research, compile, and prepare reports and presentations as needed.
- Perform financial tasks, including invoicing, cash handling, and banking.
- Coordinate ticket and pass sales, as well as employee travel arrangements.
- Handle personnel-related duties, such as payroll issues and onboarding new employees.
- Assist with contract preparation and maintain communication with contracted agencies.
- Prepare meeting agendas, attend meetings, and transcribe minutes.
- Maintain filing systems and ensure efficient office supply and equipment management.
- Comply with Occupational Health and Safety standards.
What you bring
- Strong skills in Microsoft Office, ERP systems, and other office productivity software.
- Excellent customer service practices, along with strong administrative and personnel management techniques.
- A proactive approach to learning departmental procedures and applying City policies.
- Self-motivation with the ability to make sound decisions independently.
- Strong written and verbal communication skills to interact effectively with colleagues and the public.
- Exceptional interpersonal skills and the ability to work well within a team environment.
- Strong planning and organizational abilities to ensure efficient workflow.
Qualifications
- A one-year Certificate in Office Technology (or equivalent) from a recognized post-secondary institution.
- Minimum of two years of administrative support experience, including direct customer service.
- An equivalent combination of management-approved training and experience may be considered.
