Opportunity

AIMCo's Application Delivery team is responsible for executing large-scale projects to support AIMCo's growth. The team collaborates with various departments within the organization to provide strategic solutions for a wide range of functions, including public and private investments, Investment Finance, middle/back office, and more.

As a member of the Application Delivery team, you will have the opportunity to work with cutting-edge financial technology (Fintech) applications in the asset management industry. This will allow you to gain expertise in the investment industry, the latest financial technologies (FINTECH), and project management. Your role will be crucial in ensuring that the deliverables meet business needs.

Note: This is an 8-month, full-time term from January 2026 through August 2026

Responsibilities Include:

  • Working closely with agile Application Delivery teams to implement projects and change initiatives
  • Participating in implementation projects by configuring, documenting, and presenting accounting functionality throughout the project life-cycle
  • Preparing project artifacts and assisting in documenting business processes and test regression suites.
  • Utilizing business analysis tools and techniques to support enterprise-wide initiatives, identifying workflow issues, and implementing innovative solutions.
  • Facilitating requirements gathering sessions with subject matter experts to create and validate system specifications that meet business requirements.

Our Ideal Candidate Qualifications:

  • Currently enrolled in undergraduate studies in Business or Quantitative programs (Finance, Economics, Mathematics, Computer Science, Engineering, etc.)
  • Returning to studies immediately following the work term or completing final work experience terms
  • Ability to gather business requirements by liaising with subject matter experts, including knowledge of investment operations.
  • Experience with Agile Scrum/Kanban processes, and work management tools: Azure DevOps, Mural, Confluence
  • Proficiency with programming language(s) and or Database Technologies (e.g. Python, SQL, XML, XSLT, MS SQL Server, Oracle, C#, JQuery, CSS, HTML) is desirable
  • Keen interest in the financial markets and strong understanding of financial concepts, practices, and tools.
  • Exceptional research and problem-solving abilities
  • Demonstrates a strong commitment to AIMCo’s core values of excellence, transparency, humility, integrity and collaboration, and inspires the same in others

Success Measures:

As a successful student, you will look back on your time at AIMCo's Application Delivery team and be proud of how much you have learned and grown as an aspiring professional. You will have developed a strong understanding of the different business units within AIMCo and collaborated on building data pipelines to improve collaboration and transparency through knowledge transfer and effective communication, leveraging modern data development tools. You will learn about problem-solving and be expected to try to solve your own issues before seeking guidance from your team members.
