About the role
Education: Secondary (high) school graduation certificate. Tasks: Coach colleagues on new methods or work techniques. Load and unload goods. Operate and drive straight or articulated trucks to transport goods and materials. Oversee condition of vehicle and inspect tires, lights, brakes, cold storage and other equipment. Perform emergency roadside repairs. Perform pre-trip, en route and post-trip inspection and oversee all aspects of vehicle. Perform preventive maintenance. Receive and relay information to central dispatch. Record cargo information, hours of service, distance travelled and fuel consumption. Tarping and ensuring safety and security of cargo. Certificates, licences, memberships, and courses : Air Brake (Z) Endorsement. Driver's License (Class 1 or A). Driver's License (Class 3 or D). Documentation knowledge: Accident or incident reports. Driver logbook. Inspection report (pre-trip, en-route, post-trip). Maintenance and repair reports. Security and safety: Basic security clearance. Bondable. Driving record check (abstract). Personal suitability: Flexibility. Organized. Reliability. Team player. Hardworking. Employment terms options: Early morning. Evening. Morning. On call. Experience: Will train.
