Position Summary:

TheConcessions Supervisoris responsible for overseeing the day-to-day operations of all concession stands during events, ensuring smooth and efficient service. This position plays a key role in setting up and maintaining all concession areas, supervising staff, maintaining health and safety standards, and supporting overall event success. Due to the nature of this venue, the successful candidate must be comfortable working outdoors.

This role pays an hourly rate of $22.50 CAD.

About the Venue:

Spruce Meadowsis South Calgary's leading Sports and Entertainment District, located on the border of Southwest Calgary. Regarded as one of the top show jumping venues on the planet, a stunning 500-acre property also hosts a wide range of events, including tournaments, concerts, festivals, and world famous markets.

Responsibilities:

  • Oversee set-up and readiness of all concession stands prior to each event.
  • Assign duties to employees and volunteers; ensure staffing coverage and operational efficiency.
  • Monitor food production, inventory levels, and cash handling procedures.
  • Train new and current staff on procedures, best practices, and guest service standards.
  • Step in to support or backfill any position as needed to maintain service and guest satisfaction.
  • Assist with Premium Services operations and special event needs.
  • Maintain a safe, clean, and harassment-free work environment; promptly report and address safety issues.
  • Supervise alcohol service, including ID checks and managing over-service situations.
  • Support POS transactions, order processing, and guest interaction when needed.
  • Ensure all equipment is operational and sanitation standards are met.
  • Enforce company policies and procedures; model professional conduct at all times.
  • Coach and counsel staff as needed; complete related HR documentation.
  • Assist with inventory, training sessions, and other projects assigned by management.

Qualifications:

  • At Least 1-2 years’ experience working in a supervisory capacity in a food & beverage environment.
  • Ability to communicate effectively with all stakeholders including co-workers, customers and management which focuses on generating a positive, enthusiastic and cooperative work environment.
  • Ability to work well in a team-oriented, fast-paced, event-driven environment.
  • Food handling certificate is preferred.
  • ProServe qualification is required.
  • Ability to handle cash accurately and responsibly.
