Position Overview Join Kiewit’s premier in-house engineering group, a diverse team of engineers and technical professionals working on multiple cross-border projects in the power delivery market sector. We are currently looking for a motivated Substation Engineer to join our growing team! As part of the team of highly specialized design professionals, you will support variety of substation, transmission and distribution project ranging from 12kv to 500kv.District Overview Kiewit Power Delivery is a full-service engineering and construction solutions provider operating across North America. Our experience and expertise span all aspects of the transmission and distribution market from high voltage overhead and underground transmission to distribution and automation design and construction capabilities. Work as part of a large project team, including both in-house inter-discipline engineers and construction superintendents, to provide clients with the industry's best in engineering and construction. Prepare technical specifications and interface with construction partners. Schedule, review, and coordinate design efforts with project personnel. Prepare design documents and drawings, including one and three-line diagrams, protection and control schematics, communications diagrams, wiring diagrams, substation layout plan, section and detail drawings and application of mark-ups for project built drawings. Mentor and guide design coordinators, maintaining a comprehensive understanding of design standards, applicable engineering codes, and company guidelines, providing suggestions and recommendations as needed. Apply engineering application softwre to complete engineering tasks such as ground grid design, equipment sizing, relay coordination, and electrical studies. Ensure all designs comply with safety regulations, environmental standards, and quality control measures. Collaborate with procurement teams to specify electrical components and equipment, ensuring they meet project requirements. Participate in meetings to discuss project scope, deliverables, and technical requirements. Qualifications
Bachelor’s degree in Electrical Engineering from an CEAB accredited four-year college or university program required. P.Eng strongly preferred. At least 3 years’ experience as an electrical engineer in the substation industry. Proficiency with basic computer operation and standard software tools. Should have completed some introductory computer programming courses, as well as the ability to use design software tools. Experience in field construction work is a plus.

Understand and follow oral and written instructions, including warning signs, equipment use, and other policies.- Work during normal operating hours to organize and complete work within given deadlines.
