Job Description:
The Business Analyst, Operational Excellence supports The Salvation Army’s digital transformation by leading HR data analysis, business process improvements, and people‑experience initiatives across cloud‑based HR systems. This role partners with HR, IT, and external system integrators to enhance Workday processes, strengthen data quality, and deliver analytics that empower leaders to make informed decisions. With a focus on HR analytics, project management, and change‑management support, the position plays a key role in improving operational efficiency and elevating the employee experience across the organization.
Key Responsibilities
- Lead HR data analysis, including requirements gathering, data integrity checks, and development of reports and dashboards.
- Collaborate with HR, IT, and Data Analytics teams to define reporting needs, analyze processes, and recommend improvements.
- Provide regular people‑analytics updates to HR leadership, highlighting trends and insights for assigned functional areas.
- Review HR processes and recommend enhancements to improve data accuracy, quality, and tracking.
- Support enhancements to cloud‑based HR systems, including Workday People Experience, dashboards, and release‑cycle updates.
- Identify, troubleshoot, and escalate data or process issues, ensuring timely resolution and risk mitigation.
- Gather and document business requirements for HR data migration, mapping, and process design across multiple project streams.
- Conduct data audits, reconciliation, and exception reporting to support migration and system updates.
- Support change‑management activities, including communication, training, and cross‑functional impact assessments.
- Contribute to strategic planning and continuous improvement for People Experience initiatives.
Experience & Qualifications
- University degree in computer science or a related field, or an equivalent combination of education and experience.
- 7–10 years of experience in data analysis or data‑migration projects, ideally within cloud‑based/SaaS HR systems.
- 3–5 years of Workday experience, including business processes, reporting, and demand management.
- 2–3 years of experience in data governance.
- Strong proficiency with Workday reporting and/or Workday functional certification.
- Experience working in complex, multi‑system environments and on high‑visibility projects.
- Background in Agile delivery environments and cross‑functional project teams.
- Advanced proficiency in MS Excel and strong skills in MS Word and PowerPoint.
- Excellent analytical, problem‑solving, communication, and stakeholder‑management abilities.
- Ability to work in a fast‑paced environment and adapt to frequent change.
Compensation:
The target hiring range for this position is $81,170.48 to $101,463.10 with a maximum of $121,755.72.
Placement in the salary range will be based on factors such as market conditions, internal equity, and candidate experience, skills, and qualifications relevant to the role.
