Position Summary
The Inside Sales Representative (ISR) is responsible for providing timely and accurate estimates for customers on all repairs to their equipment.
Work Module: Remote
Specific Accountabilities
Successful quote closure
- Generate repair estimates for customers
- Gather all needed information – parts, outside repairs, labor, etc.
- Formulate proposal to present to the customer
- Provide customers with accurate estimates within 24 hours of receiving the information
- Once customer approval is obtained, convert from an estimate to an order
- Follow up with customers on estimates for which we have not yet obtained authorization until estimate is either accepted or denied
- Verify information with technicians on any repairs that there is any type of uncertainty to the repair that is being estimated
- Contact customer with details if jobs in process are found to need additional repairs (generate another detailed estimate)
- Maintain open communications with appropriate people on customers’ pending jobs (shop manager, field service manager, sales reps, and others as needed)
- Look up and price all needed parts
- ISR will stay in close contact with the Branch or Service manager on all potential service estimates for assistance, if needed, or for time frames for these repairs.
Measurement
- Track all approved estimates, lost estimates (to competition), denied estimates (customer not going to approve), and accepted estimates (approved and invoiced).
- Either get customer approval to proceed or close quotes, within 30 days of issue, with reason for lost sale if relevant.
- Regularly review CRMD activity of all accepted, pending, denied, and expired estimates showing % closed WON, main reasons for lost sales and quotes open > 30 days and have full awareness of sales pipeline at all given times.
- Enter and track all quote activity in CRMD and ELC.
Client retention and development
Call select customers to retain contact and assess current needs as needed.
Successful marketing activity
Be aware and informed of marketing calendar for parts and service. Plan for forthcoming promos and send out related marketing materials to all quoted customers.
Qualifications
Education & Work Experience
High school completion coupled with some specialized courses in the Technical field or equivalent work experience and 5 years’ experience in material handling service environment or similar industry.
Competencies and Skills
- Excellent interpersonal and communication skills (written and verbal)
- Excellent organizational skills and ability to prioritize competing deadlines
- Ability to effectively establish rapport, present information and respond to questions
- Ability to solve practical problems and deal with a variety of variables
- Ability to write business correspondence
- Proficiency in Microsoft Word, Excel and Power Point
Working Conditions
The ISR will work out of an office environment, where a computer will be used sustained levels of visual effort and regular levels of manual dexterity and concentration are required.
