Easter Seals Alberta Camp Horizon is a fully accessible camp located in the foothills, providing year-round recreational and respite programs for children and adults with disabilities. Our Kitchen Team plays a vital role in providing nutritious, high-quality meals in a safe and welcoming environment.
#Position Summary
The Summer Kitchen Help supports the daily operations of the camp kitchen, assisting with food preparation, cleaning, and service. This is an excellent opportunity for individuals interested in gaining hands-on experience in a fast-paced kitchen environment.
This role is especially well-suited for first-year culinary students or individuals planning to enter a culinary program.
#Key Responsibilities

Assist with food preparation (chopping, portioning, basic cooking tasks)

Support meal service for campers and staff

Maintain cleanliness and organization of kitchen and dining areas

Wash dishes, utensils, and kitchen equipment
-
Follow all food safety and sanitation standards

Assist with receiving and storing food deliveries

Work collaboratively with the Head Chef and kitchen team
-
Support special events and dietary accommodations as required

Interest in cooking, food service, or culinary arts

Ability to work in a fast-paced environment

Strong work ethic, reliability, and positive attitude

Ability to follow instructions and work as part of a team

Attention to detail and commitment to cleanliness
#Requirements

Must be available to live on-site Monday through Friday for the duration of the contract

Must provide a clear Police Information Check (including Vulnerable Sector Check)

Must meet Canada Summer Jobs (CSJ) eligibility requirements

CSJ Eligibility Requirements:

Be between 15 and 30 years of age at the start of employment

Be a Canadian citizen, permanent resident, or person with refugee protection
-
Be legally entitled to work in Canada
